Job Purpose :
Support the market intelligence & planning vertical for power market trend forecasting, case specific intelligence, portfolio optimization strategy and provide various management reports using power modelling & data analytics. This will involve co-ordination with business & finance teams, regulatory teams, asset management and external stakeholders like consultants, etc.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Understanding of the ongoing energy transition, energy economics & sector dynamics.
- Is Interested to build one of India's largest energy trading & market intelligence desk.
- Understanding of the various parameters impacting the power demand & supply mix.
- Experience on a wider supply side power-mix
- Good techno-commercial understanding of at least one source (i.e. coal, hydro, gas, etc.) other than renewables (solar, wind, ESS)
- Broad understanding of market operations i.e. how electricity is traded, scheduled, and settled in the system.
- Broad understanding of power sector regulations, working of LDCs, wholesale market structure, retail electricity market, and some of the upcoming power sector reforms.
- Understanding on how Utilities, Gencos function and take operating decisions on a day-to-day basis across the various contracts and wholesale markets.
- Support M&A transactions, new investments with market related strategy & assumptions.
- Management reporting on market related developments
- Should have an analytical bent of mind and should be self-driven. Experience in any tool on power modelling & big data analytics will be a HUGE advantage.
Profile & Eligible Criteria :
- He/ She will be a B.E/B.tech. + MBA with up to 9 years of experience.
- Should have at least 4-5 years in the power sector across consulting (ICF, IHS, KPMG, Deloitte, etc.) or IPPs or Thinktanks with deep interest in the ongoing energy transition and electricity market reforms.
