Position: Manager - Regulatory

Location: Gurugram

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Interaction with CERC, SERCs, APTEL, MNRE, SNAs, etc. on Renewable Energy (RE) Regulatory & Policy matters.

- Due Diligence & Review of RE PPAs and other Agreements with DISCOMs, STUs, CTU, etc.

- Tracking Draft & Final Amendment/New Regulations/Consultation Papers, etc., issued by SERCs & CERC, which impact RE business & operations of the Company.

- Collate, Review & Submission of cross-functional comments/suggestions/objections on Draft Amendment/New Regulations/Consultation Papers, etc. within stipulated timelines.

- Tracking ROPs, Orders & Judgements issued by SERCs, CERC, APTEL/High Courts and Supreme Court, which impact RE business & operations of the Company.

- Tracking Draft & Final Amendment/New Policies/Guidelines, issued by MNRE, SNAs, etc., which impact RE business & operations of the Company.

- Collate, Review & Submission of cross-functional comments/suggestions/objections on Draft Amendment/New Policies/Guidelines within stipulated timelines.

- Tracking Policies/Orders/Notifications/Guidelines/OMs issued by MNRE, SNAs, etc., which impact RE business & operations of the Company

- Analyse business impact of above Regulations, ROPs, Orders, Policies, Notifications, OMs, etc.


- Identify Regulatory Threats/Opportunities for the RE business.

- Tariff calculations in accordance with RE Tariff Regulation/Orders of SERCs/CERC for Section 62 PPAs.

- Prepare Landed Tariff Calculations under RE Open Access for HT Consumers across all states and track changing parameters and assumptions for BD/Bidding team and Management decisions.

- Prepare and update dashboard on periodic brief on Regulatory & Policy landscape for Management information & decision making.

- Participate actively in the Regulatory and Policy forums in the Indian RE/Power Sector.

- Cross-functional Regulatory support: Interpretation of Regulations, Policies, Guidelines, PPAs, Procedures, etc. for Business Development, Project Development, Commercial, O&M, etc.

Educational Qualifications:

- MBA from Tier 1 B-School (strictly from Tier 1) or MBA in Power Mgmt. from UPES/NPTI.

- B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil. Both required.

Experience:

- MBA from Tier 1 B-School (strictly from Tier 1).

- Fresher/1 year of experience in Commercial/Strategy functions of RE or Thermal Power Sectors or Consulting.

- MBA in Power Mgmt from UPES/NPTI or equivalent

- 2-3 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs of Renewable Energy or Thermal Power Sectors.

Prior Exposure Required:

- Electricity Regulatory framework in India (Electricity Act, Rules, Policies, CERC Regulation/orders pertaining to Renewable Energy).

- Power Sector Policies/ Regulations/Orders issued by CERC/ SERCs/ CEA/ MOP/ MNRE/SNAs, etc.

- Developing Excel based Tariff Models/Calculations or Financial Models or exceptional control over Excel Modelling is Mandatory.

- Experience in business analysis of Regulatory/Policy framework is a plus.

- Experience of working with SERCs/CERC/APTEL/MNRE/SNAs, etc is a plus.

Required Skills & Competencies:

- Excellent analytical and communication (reading, written and verbal) skills are a must.

- Extensive reading, interpretation & analysis required.

- Ability to multi-task effectively and balance time between different KRAs. Learning attitude.
