KEY PURPOSE :
- Drive direct sales channel for the Region through the company's direct sales force.
- To lead the team and ensure achievement of the target and brand positioning (including delivery of agreed customer experience) for the company.
- To inculcate and develop a high performance sales culture within the Zone's direct sales team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
STRATEGIC :
- Recruit sales personnel that meet the agreed criteria, ensure sales and product training to all new recruits in addition to continuous development of staff and field force.
- Responsible for execution of the business plan for the direct sales business in the Region.
- Responsible for providing robust market information on competitive product offerings and inputs on product development.
- Drive channel support and promotional activities for each customer segment
- Ensure sales technology is used across sales processes.
- Drive Career plans for sales force as part of the framework to enhance retention and improve productivity.
- Ability to work harmoniously with related interfaces within the organization.
CUSTOMER :
- Execute customer relationship practices to be handled through branch staff.
- Responsible for ensuring achievement of target for acquisition of new retail customers from agreed segments in conjunction with the National Sales Manager.
PROCESS :
- Adhere to all policies and processes set up by the organization.
- Ensure laid practices and processes are being adhered to by the team.
PEOPLE :
- Develop the distribution team for the Region.
- Responsible for providing leadership to the team and ensure achievement of performance level from the team.
- Inculcate a culture of high performance within the team and take appropriate initiatives for increasing the motivational levels of the employees.
Key Critical Competencies :
- Contributes actively and translates channel strategies into workable action plans.
- Is able to understand the financial dynamics of the business, to ensure that sales efforts are aligned with targets for bottom line growth.
- Should exhibit a high level of integrity and lay emphasis on setting ethical standards across the Region. Should be able to lead by example.
- Is able to drive a customer first culture within the Region.
- Is able to effectively communicate strategies to the team and build, coach, mentor and empower talented and diverse teams.
Profile :
- Should be well versed with the dynamics of the Insurance / financial services industry and with a high credibility in the marketplace.
- Must have prior experience in handling a Region for at least 1- 2 yrs. Total experience of about 6-10 years.
