Category Head is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and overall performance of a specific category within an organization. They are responsible for managing a team, developing and executing category plans, and driving growth and profitability within the assigned category. The Category Head collaborates with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, operations, and product development, to ensure alignment and achievement of business objectives.
Roles And Responsibilities:
1. Creating and developing a long-term plan and strategy for the development of the category and executing them with precision.
2. Develop strong working relationships with Buyer & Seller teams.
P&L owner for the group of Category managed.
3. Customer management: Building, Nurturing & Managing key customer relationships and developing business relationship value with Customers.
4. Strong in analytics, data-driven experimentation, and problem-solving.
5. Assertive with a collaborative attitude and experience in managing a team of mid to senior-level people.
6. Experience and knowledge of assortment in multiple geographies is an added advantage.
Category Analytics: Proficient in analytics to identify growth areas and execute.
7. Discovering profitable suppliers & buyers and initiating business and organization partnerships.
8. Work closely with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to deliver top-line,bottom-line, and customer experience KRAs
Preferred Candidate Profile:
1. Expertise in category management.
2. In-depth knowledge of marketing and sales operations and processes.
3. Analytical and critical thinker.
4. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skill
Work Experience:
1. 8+ years of work experience & Deep industry knowledge of B2B Industries.
2. Astute business sense and analytical ability with great articulation skills.
3. Prior operations and project/vendor-management experience
Knowledge/ Skills:
1. High level of ownership, willingness to set up things from scratch, high emotional intelligence.
2. Superior research skills and resourcefulness to draw logical conclusions with often limited information.
3. Knowledge/work experience in plastic, and paper recycling.
4. Excellent planning skills, analytical ability, and lateral thinking ability
5. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work in high-pressure situations.
6. Excellent communication & Good people management skills.
7. Addressing market needs and challenges.
8. Supply Chain processes.
9. Scaling operations to PAN India
