Job Title : Factory Finance Manager (CA - 1st Attempt) Reports to : Supply Controller Location : Multiple locations, India SUMMARY : The Plant Accountant monitors the movements in product costs and analyzes the variances. S/he prepares the product wise cost sheet, monitors wastages, manages inventory and reviews the Trial balance. The profile also requires supervising the excise and other statutory matters pertaining to the factory &amp; liaising with the various government officials for this purpose. Support the Plant manager in facilitating cost management. SCOPE / DIMENSIONS OF ROLE : The Plant Accountant reports to the Supply Controller with a dotted line reporting to the Plant Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES : Accounts, Finance and Statutory Compliances : - Compliance with Company and Group Policies - Completion of monthly accounts closing of auditable standards - Ensuring timely &amp; accurate closing of monthly accounts with all related schedules - Custodian and physical control of assets (inventories and fixed assets) Excise / Tax : - Liaison with the excise authorities / sales tax authorities. - Maintenance of all Statutory Excise records MIS : - Ensure that the monthly Uniform Factory MIS (including COGS drilldown and standard cost variances) are submitted on time with full explanations wherever so required. - Unit Budget preparation &amp; monitoring. Commercial : - Ensure minimum wastage of RM/PM/Bulk. - Ensure delivery of opex Savings as committed. - Ensure there is no accumulation of Non moving/Slow moving/Dead inventory - Follow up &amp; ensure use/disposal without any hit to P/L - Follow up on Idle Asset disposal at Units - protecting book value &amp; avoiding Loss - Drive implementation of Unit specific Squeeze &amp; projects - Negotiation of the conversion rates with the Co-packer along with the factory Manager. Customer Service : - Support Factory Manager in driving cost reduction &amp; efficiency improvement projects. - Provide Cause of Change Analysis to Local Management to enable corrective action. Employee Payroll : - Ensure timely monthly salary payment as per set calendar and timely tax computation and issuance of Form 16. KEY CHALLENGES : - Efficiently managing inventory control of the plant - Managing book of accounts PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE : - Qualification - CA (1st Attempt) - 4-6 years of total experience with exposure in a plant - Knowledge of ERP PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES : - Negotiation skills - Financial management knowledge - Administrative skills - Reporting &amp; documentation ability - Efficiency in monitoring budgets - Audit handling knowledge
