RBS - Associate - Financial Reporting/Control

Role

The role is responsible for providing control of the Financial ledger through Policy setting, Control, Risk and Systems framework leading to delivery of the Balance sheet and related externally disclosed Statutory information. This role ensures that all financial transactions are appropriately recorded and substantiated to reflect the true and fair position as per the defined RBS policies / procedures and guidelines.

Your Responsibilities

As Associate- Financial Control your key responsibilities will be:

- Responsible for the delivery and integrity of monthly financial information (balance sheet, profit and loss account and supporting data), Statutory & External reporting, Value added commentary / analysis for the area supported

- Undertake reconciliations, accounting, MI & control activities to support ledger close, reconciliation, substantiation and reporting

- Responsible for supporting change initiatives, process improvements and in system implementations related to own processes and applications

- Responsible for first level investigation of process/ system issues

- Undertake activities assigned on timely basis and highlight any process improvement opportunity

- Responsible for troubleshooting queries

- Support systems testing (UAT) and system/process improvement initiatives, as required from time to time

- Submit KPI's on timely basis

- Ensure that all reports / outputs relating to reconciliations are produced on time and are of high quality

- Ensure process changes are documented and communicated to all the related teams

- Develop process maps, identifying critical paths in order create a plan and drive acceleration of the disclosure reporting process

The skills you will need

- CA / ICWA / MBA Finance, IFRS certification is desirable with minimum 5-7 years experience in a Financial Services environment

- Experience of delivery of core financial control and reporting outputs, including ledger close, balance sheet substantiation, statutory and management reporting and external audit

- Understanding of inter-company and contra account usage requirements and intercompany reconciliations and substantiation

- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including strong Excel skills . Knowledge of Walker/SAP/INEA/Khalix

- Ability to capture trends of Journals posted / reconciliations undertaken / budget MI released

- Understand accounting impact of activity undertaken and highlight any process issue / gap to reviewer
