Leading Safety Initiatives:
- Develop and implement workplace safety initiatives, policies, and procedures tailored to our cement manufacturing processes
- Provide strategic direction to ensure the safety initiatives align with our overall business goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams to incorporate safety practices into daily operations and project planning
- Act as a safety advisor during project planning and execution, ensuring all safety protocols are followed
Hazard Identification and Risk Mitigation:
- Conduct regular inspections and safety audits to identify potential hazards and non-conformity of workers to safety rules and policies
- Implement preventive measures to mitigate risks and prevent accidents
Safety Reporting:
- Prepare and present comprehensive safety reports to Senior Management on a regular basis
- Highlight safety performance, trends, and areas needing improvement in these reports
Compliance and Statutory Requirements:
- Ensure all statutory notices, safety policies, insurance certificates, and the names of appointed first-aid attendants are displayed
- Maintain these documents in prominent and accessible locations within the facilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (B. Sc/B. Tech/M. Sc/M. Tech) in Industrial Safety or a related field
- At least 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in managing Industrial Safety, especially in the cement manufacturing industry
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety best practices
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards relating to occupational health and safety (OHS)
- Track record in achieving safety results/KPIs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational, leadership and motivational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree or postgraduate diploma in Industrial Safety or a related field
- Familiarity with the discipline of Process Safety and its management
- Prior experience in conducting safety audits or HAZOP studies
- Good knowledge of ISO 45001 and/or US OSHA
