This professional is expected to evolve into a SPOC for the Smart Structures team for any new sensor development activity.
JOB Description:
Role and Responsibilities
- Should independently lead a team comprising of embedded software developers and frontend software developers.
- Should plan and execute hardware and firmware development for custom embedded system developed in-house.
- Should be able to identify potential product offerings and conduct due diligence on feasibility (Technical as well as commercial) for integrating the respecting sensor electronics.
- Should conduct extensive literature survey and understanding of standards relevant to our industry to ensure compliance.
- Should co-ordinate with different manufacturers and vendors to create a manufacturing supply chain ecosystem for our proprietary embedded system.
- Should document the development as well as testing effort, and maintain the revision history accordingly.
- Manage the procurement and production activity for the embedded system if needed.
- Lead the live board testing and debug function.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelors in Electronics, Engineering Physics, Instrumentation Engineering., preferably from IITs,NIT or other TIER-1 engineering institutions.
- Masters in Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering preferably from IIT, NIT or other TIER-1 engineering institutions.
Desired Skills
- Demonstrated ability of having prototyped and worked on a sensor and data acquisition system.
- Ability to understand a material, dimensional, mechanical, electrical property in physical domain and subsequently visualize a feasible way of measuring such a property.
- Working experience in prototyping using Raspberry Pi, Arm cortex M0, Atmega/PIC micro controllers.
- Should have a working knowledge of A/D converters and signal conditioning instrumentation.
- Should have relevant skills to read and understand datasheets of multitude of IC's which could be used in the embedded solutions for data acquisition and transmission.
- Experience of having worked with PCB manufacturers and Board assembly service providers.
- Have idea of PCB design related technical specifications and experience of doing schematic capture for PCB's.
Additional Skills
- Should have working experience in C, C++, developing libraries, drivers and applications on embedded micro-controllers. (SOC's and SOM- s)
- Have experience in working in LabVIEW and related instrumentation software.
- Should be up to date with the latest silicon solutions released for the IOT industry.
