Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of QA inspectors on your assigned shift.
- Develop, implement, and monitor process control plans, FMEAs, work instructions, and flow diagrams to ensure consistent quality throughout production.
- Monitor and control the quality of incoming raw materials against customer specifications and machine requirements.
- Identify and address internal rejections to improve production yield.
- Verify and ensure outgoing dispatches meet all customer requirements.
- Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries from new customers, especially those with specific requirements (e., SPD customers).
- Champion the implementation of a robust Quality Management System (QMS) within your shift.
- Possess a working knowledge of the steel making process.
- Utilize the latest 7 Quality Control (7QC) tools for continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE) or Metallurgical Engineering preferred.
- 4-7 years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance role.
- Strong understanding of quality control principles and methodologies.
- Experience in developing and implementing quality control documentation (control plans, FMEAs, work instructions, flow diagrams).
- Proficiency in utilizing 7QC tools for problem-solving and process improvement.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the steel making process is a plus
