1. POSITION VACANT: Quality Assurance Manager (QAM-SG), New Delhi

2. ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND:

Headquartered at Seattle, WA-USA, SightLife is one of the leading eye banks in the world, and serves as an international non-governmental organization (INGO) to eliminate corneal blindness.

Working with surgeons in over 30 countries, SightLife and its Global Partners restore sight to more than 20 men, women, and children each day. This is accomplished through eye banks, which are centers for the recovery and placement of eye tissue used in cornea transplants. SightLife’s mission is to eliminate corneal blindness globally through partnerships with eye banks in developing countries, where 90% of the 10 million people suffering from curable corneal blindness live.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Country Director, the QAM shall be responsible for establishing and monitoring continuous quality improvement and quality assurance processes of SightLife Global Programs and Partners. Additionally, s/he shall be ensuring that SightLife Global Programs/ Partners meets or exceeds local and international regulatory requirements and are able to achieve current accreditation levels.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Establishing, performing, and monitoring quality assurance training program for relevant Eye Bank Partner personnel (30%);

(2) Verifying and analyzing performance of routine quality controls and quality assurance for Eye Bank Partners such as laboratory maintenance and tissue release (20%);

(3) Performing periodic on-site quality audits of eye bank partners (15%);

(4) Establishing and maintaining routine reports to demonstrate quality performance of all key Eye Bank Partner activities (10%);

(5) Evaluating all technical aspects of eye bank partner for quality controls and interacting with key eye bank partner leadership to implement improvements (8%);

(6) Reviewing and updating the SightLife Global Policy and Procedures Manual yearly and as needed and ensuring they are adopted by eye bank partners (5%);

(7) Monitoring the development of local and international standards changes and ensuring prompt and complete implementation of new standards to SightLife Global Programs Policy and Procedures (2%);

(8) Performing other projects and duties as assigned (10%).

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

Qualification:

Applicants should have minimum a Master’s degree. Bachelor’s degree with exceptional relevant experience will be considered.

Experience:

(1) Minimum seven years experience in Quality Assurance and Accreditation;

(2) Certification, Training, and/or extensive familiarity with standard quality methodologies such as Six Sigma, Change Management/ Business Process Improvement, Total Quality Management, CMMI, etc, shall be preferred;

(3) Experience in quality auditing shall be preferred;

(4) Experience in mentoring and coaching on quality programs.

Skills and Attributes:

(1) Excellent communication skills in English, Hindi. Knowledge of a third language is a plus; Exceptional verbal, written, analytical, presentation, customer service and interpersonal skills;

(2) Ability to travel 30% of the time and internationally 10% of the time;

(3) A personal commitment to organ donation required;

(4) Must be able to work long hours, nights, and weekends when needed;

(5) In all daily activities, strive to support the Mission, Vision, and Values of SightLife.

5. COMPENSATION OFFERED:

The budgeted compensation for this position is Rs. 8-10 lacs per annum. The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with qualifications, experience and salary history.
