Job Title: Head of Credit Underwriting and Risk (Global)

Headquartered in Singapore, we focus on developing an institutional private credit protocol that seamlessly connects on-chain stablecoin investors with off-chain fintech asset originators. We leverage DeFi rails with regulatory standings, connecting institutional stablecoin investors to emerging market asset originators for higher net yield.

What Are We Looking For:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Credit Underwriting and Risk to lead our credit department and drive our underwriting strategies. As the Head of Credit, you will play a pivotal role in underwriting and managing credit risk for a diverse portfolio of fintech asset originators, including NBFIs across emerging economies such as SEA and LATAM. You will be instrumental in building our credit underwriting infrastructure and developing comprehensive credit policies. Your expertise in underwriting fintech asset originators and your knowledge of securitization (DA, PTC, True Sell, etc.) and CLO will ensure that our underwriting network is robust and our credit decisions are data-driven. This is a role with significant global exposure, connecting various markets and financial institutions.

Responsibilities:

- Lead the Credit Underwriting and Risk Assessment of fintech asset originators such as NBFIs and fintech lenders from SEA, LATAM, etc.

- Facilitate the development and constant update of credit policies and related frameworks.

- Proactively assess the risk of the existing portfolio on a regular basis, identifying weak accounts.

- Constantly monitor and evaluate Early Warning Signals and deploy/amend the limits structure for managing the risk concentration across a broad range of parameters.

- Evaluate the creditworthiness and financial stability of global fintech asset originators.

- Assess risks in underwriting pools and make informed decisions.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lending regulations.

- Provide detailed monthly and weekly reporting for LPs, investors, and management.

- Build, review, update, and maintain the Credit Policy.

- Use and enhance Qiro's underwriting infrastructure, supporting the distributed underwriting network.

- Travel to different countries (if required) based on the location of NBFCs/fintech asset originators.

- Coordinate with different service providers such as auditors, custodians, rating agencies, etc., globally.

Requirements:

- Minimum 10 years of experience in the Banking/NBFC/Fintech space with at least 3-4 years of experience at the management level.

- Minimum Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field.

- Expertise in credit analysis or underwriting of NBFCs/fintech asset originators/financial institutions.

- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, especially to manage global financial institutions (NBFIs, NBFCs, fintech lenders, debt funds, etc).

- Must possess knowledge of securitization (DA, PTC, True Sell, etc.), CLO (Collateralized Loan Obligations), CDO (Collateralized Debt Obligations), and structured debt. Preference will be given to those who were involved in securitization and CLO transactions in the past.

- Exceptional skills in understanding data, trend analysis, scorecards, and behavior scores are a must.
