Purchase Manager - Beverages Industry

- We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Purchase Manager with extensive experience in the beverage industry, specifically in import and export operations.

- The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of beverage products from both domestic and international suppliers. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of market trends and compliance regulations.

JD is as follows :

Sourcing and Procurement:

- Identify and evaluate suppliers for beverage products, including raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.

- Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.

Supplier Management:

- Identify potential suppliers, visit existing suppliers, and build and maintain good relationships with them.

Negotiation:

- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable conditions.

- Establish long-term relationships with key suppliers while maintaining competitiveness in the market.

Import and Export Management:

- Oversee all import and export processes, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.

- Collaborate with logistics and shipping partners to coordinate transportation and customs clearance.

Inventory Management:

- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock.

- Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to streamline processes.

Risk Management:

- Assess, manage, and mitigate risks associated with supply contracts and agreements.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

- Ensure all products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

- Develop and maintain documentation related to supplier compliance and procurement processes.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a purchasing manager in the Beverages/FMCG industry.

- Strong negotiation and leadership skills with experience in import and export operations, including knowledge of customs regulations.

- Excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of French/Lingala would be an advantage.

- Proficient in relevant software such as Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing management software.
