Job Summary :


- The Head of Business Excellence will lead the standardization, implement required changes, and optimize all business processes and systems at the organization level with the goal of achieving excellence in various aspects of business operations


- The individual will be the champion of change across departments and functions and ensure that necessary checks and balances are built around the business processes for seamless interactions within the organization in the most efficient and optimal way.


- He / She will be the custodian of all management processes and business improvement initiatives and will refine key performance indicators that would be monitored at all levels for performance measurement.


- The individual will bring in global best practices in defining and ensuring processes are executed efficiently with focus on Continuous Improvement within the organization

- Strategic Planning and Project Management

- As a key advisor to the management, play a pivotal role in aligning business excellence initiatives with the overall strategic goals of the organization, understand the company's vision and mission and ensure that improvement efforts support these objectives.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the organization, help the organization adapt to changing market conditions and remain competitive in the long run.

- Lead improvement initiatives by enlisting and influencing cross-functional teams that deliver tangible business results through the application of Lean and Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools.

- Lead and oversee the change management of all business excellence initiatives, providing regular updates to management on progress, emphasizing key issues and risks, and ensuring efficient delivery of results within the designated project timeline.

- Develop and execute a 'Process Plan' duly outlining details of processes that need to be created / optimized with respective business cases with timelines for implementation post discussions with BU / Function heads and top management approvals.

- Periodically optimize and refine KPIs related to each function and support IT team to build digital data capturing mechanism for monitoring and reporting of KPIs .

Operational Excellence:

- Guide the team in carrying out Value Stream Mapping, preparing Loss Cost Matrix (LCM) and support in analyzing LCM to identify strategic, OEE, Quality, Process Improvement, and cost reduction projects.

- Enhance the efficiency of the factory/production line layout through the implementation of time and motion studies, considering ergonomic design and LEAN principles.

- Re-engineer processes based on opportunities identified and work across businesses / functions to assess opportunities from a cost benefit analysis perspective keeping in mind customer experience and operational excellence.

- Identify gaps in existing processes and implement LEAN techniques to eliminate Non-Value Added (NVA) steps across the organization.

- Ensure sustainability of standardized process by using statistical techniques like sampling techniques, SPC, 7 QC tools, DOE, Regression analysis, and MSA.

- Ensure suitable resources and skills are in place to deliver the required continuous improvement culture throughout the organization.

- Work with business / function heads to develop suitable training programs to implement Six Sigma and Continuous improvement philosophy across all areas.

- Disseminate changes in processes via effective communications and training.

- Work with external partners, consultants, and vendors as per requirements.

Budgeting and Planning:

- Prepare budgets for implementation of business process optimizations and other business excellence initiatives requiring investments.

- Prepare business cases indicating overall cost - benefit towards the proposed changes.

- Ensure and vet improvements due to process changes and savings are reflected in respective businesses / functions.

Training and Development:

- Develop and train team to imbibe and be update on various business processes.

- As a Project Champion, guide the team of managers and engineers in taking up various projects of Black Belt/Green Belt, focused improvement, energy optimization and promote TPM, KAIZEN and 5S culture across the organization.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Education and Certifications:

- B. Tech / B.E. (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Metallurgy/Production/Chemical)

- MBA/PGDM (in any specialization)

- Certification in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from is must, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt is preferable ( must be from ASQ/ISI or equivalent institute).

- Certification on Project Management (PMP/Prince2) would be an added advantage

Experience:

- 12+ years of experience in business excellence in engineering / industrial casting manufacturing; with aerospace and/or defense manufacturing-related businesses will be highly preferred.

- Demonstrated experience in operational improvement via process changes, Proven ability to monitor progress against targets.

- Experience of providing support & leadership across multiple facilities, Knowledge of casting business and digital tools such as Minitab/SPSS is must.

Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:

- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

- Strong software skills for spreadsheets, presentation software and process integration software.

- Ability to attract, develop and retain high-performing talent in the team.

- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management and collaboration skills along with a clear understanding of Business Excellence related team metrics, KRAs and KPIs.

- Proficiency in using tools such as TABLEAU/ORANGE/Power BI for generating insightful reports and analyses, contributing to informed decision-making will be preferable.

- Strong knowledge and experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Visio, and other MS Office tools.

- A strong command on spoken and written English is a must.
