ABOUT PROJECT POTENTIAL
Project Potential exists to enable rural communities to solve their own problems, inclusively and sustainably. They believe that people everywhere deserve to reach their full potential -- and that once they do, it benefits not only them, but also the community around them. They believe that if their organization succeeds, then rural communities will be empowered to not only have a seat at the table but also will build their own tables to decide what kind of future they want for themselves.
Project Potential's strategy for achieving the above is to establish Kishanganj District, Bihar as a model district by creating an ecosystem to attract and develop the people, organizations and resources required to drive inclusive, sustainable change. On the organization side, Project Potential attracts partner organizations to work in Kishanganj by offering them access to their 15-acre campus (eArthshala), support in recruitment of local youth, and funding. The hope is that local youth, along with partner organizations who have technical skills in sectors like education, health, and livelihoods, will work together to drive sustainable and inclusive change.
Project Potential has been supported by people/institutions including: Mr. Narayana Murthy (Infosys Founder), Infosys Foundation, Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives, Mr. Vikram Lal (Eicher Motors Founder), and others.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
In line with our eArth Ecosystem strategy, we aim to create a health vertical called eArth Swasthya in which we develop and attract the people, organizations, and resources required to improve the health care system and outcomes in Thakurganj Block. While we ultimately hope to improve the capacity of the healthcare system as a whole, we have identified two areas to begin with: Tuberculosis and COVID-19. For Tuberculosis, we already have a partner - Innovators in Health - who we are working with in order to replicate their model in Thakurganj Block. For COVID-19, we have created a few safety protocols for our team, but would like to develop a program to keep vulnerable community members safe from COVID-19.
ABOUT THE ROLE
For this role, we are looking for a systems thinker capable of working across linguistic and cultural lines with a background in public health. The hope is that you will facilitate our local team so that they can learn the entire process of what it takes to set a goal, create criteria, research partners, reach out to them, do all proper vetting and expectation setting, and then onboard them. In the process, you, along with our team, would accomplish the following:
- Conduct a need analysis and define project outcomes for our work in health care
- Create selection criteria for suitable partners to support us in achieving the desired outcomes
- Research partners and conduct a selection process based on the above criteria to finalize partner(s)
- Create a theory of change and project plan for execution
- Create a cost estimate for the project based on the TOC and project plan
- Prepare for project execution by strategizing for and executing -- with selected partners- support -- fellow selection and training
- Work with onboarded partners to ensure there is a steady support process for our local team
- Plan and work on other elements of the project, including fellow and employee safety and ensuring legal compliance with all relevant laws
- Continually reflect with the team and document learnings such that this project can go smoothly and we gain a clearer understanding of what it takes to execute this entire process
