Job Description:
The responsibilities of the PMO Manager include managing the day-to-day activities in the PMO, providing guidance on PMO policies and processes, overseeing project management staff, and collaborating with other department leaders to develop projects and programs.
To be successful as a PMO Manager, you should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch PMO Manager should be well organized and able to work under pressure.
Job Details or accountabilities:
- Effectively manage projects using the 5 steps of project management - Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & controlling, Closure
- Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables
- Analyzing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation
- Supervises day to day work to ensure that all projects handled by the team in the most effective way
- Provide regular feedbacks based on the periodic performance reviews
- Motivates team through timely rewards & recognitions
- Performs vendor management effectively, monitors performance and takes corrective actions wherever necessary
- Mentor and coach team and staff
- Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.
- Supporting & managing delivery team on their projects to improve project assurance
- Supports sales team in process assessments, lead due diligence meetings and discussions & client presentations
- Support Delivery team in client presentations for daily, weekly & monthly discussions and sharing MOM with all stakeholders
- Ensure staff compliance with company policies and measures
- Strong knowledge of MS Project & MS Visio
- Knowledge on project management concepts namely Tools and techniques
- Ability to maintain high confidentiality with sensitive information and data and display integrity
- Experience in effectively interacting with employees or leadership team from internal or client organization
- Effective stake holder management & communication
- Excellent written or verbal communication skills along with proven presentation skills
- Proactively manages risk and maintains proper documentations
- Proven abilities to work with data, analyze and draw inferences from the data available
- Ability to articulate effectively while reporting, creating minutes and action plans
- Ability to update project related documents and version control documents contextually and accurately
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions
- Should be able to lead from front with no/minimum guidance
- Should be able to manage multiple projects with operation change, non-operational change, infrastructure setup or transition
- Understands Project Management Methodology (PMI) and documents everything which is required to prepare a project plan, knows how to develop SOPs a Governance Plan for projects being handed over to BAU
- Summarizing the boundaries for the projects, addressing both in scope and out of scope activities
- Summarizes the financials for the project, source of funding, how the funding will be received and estimating the budget for the project
- Works closely with project sponsors to obtain necessary approvals and signoffs from sponsors to proceed with the planning of the project
- Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables
