Project Lead/Senior Project Lead

The incumbent will be responsible for end-to-end project management, component development, component modification, costing, cost reduction, and other project-related tasks

Job Description:

- Manages part development, cost negotiation, and quality feedback loops for the New Dumper Project, specifically for casting, forging, and machining parts.

- Handles various commodity heads for the Dumper project, including RFQs, receipt of drawings, quotations, and negotiated rates for different aggregates to ensure the project remains within a viable ROI.

- Leads NPI-related activities by collaborating with suppliers, design control engineers, value chain engineering, and procurement category teams

Job Responsibilities:

Project management:

- Understanding of Dumper aggregates and probable suppliers.

- Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner

Component Development:

- Development of Casting, forging and machining parts for Dumpers.

- Adherence to development timelines.

- Development of die and fixture as per requirement.

Component Modifications:

- ECN Management: Ensure timely implementation of Drawing changes.

- Knowledge of Design and Planning BOM

Costing:

- Zero- Based Costing for Casting, forging and machining parts for Dumper

- Negotiation with Vendors.

- Release of Purchase Orders

- Settlement of raw material price fluctuation (increase/decrease with vendors)

- Handling Capex for the section

- Understanding of gate cost & achieving the gate cost targets

Cost Reduction:

- Work on cost reduction projects to achieve the annual cost reduction target within the team & across different teams

Process Audits:

- Ensure conformance of vendor audit, timely resolution for any NC

Quality Issues:

- Manage quality issues at vendor end during NPI & regular supplies.

Required skills Casting, forging and machining Category:

- Knowledge of electrical parts manufacturing and rubber parts manufacturing

- Steel Casting - Bosses and H Links.

- Ductile Iron Castings - Drum, Housing, Covers, etc.

- Forgings - Gears, Shafts, Bosses, Couplings

- Knowledge of Raw Materials.

- Knowledge of die/fixture manufacturing

- Understanding of SAP MM (module)

- Work closely in Collaboration with all other functions - Design, Quality, Procurement, Production, Finance

- Good in Communication, MS Excel & PowerPoint Presentation, Leadership skills.

Qualification & Experience: B.Tech in Mechanical / Production with minimum 10 years experience preferably in Construction Equipment & Heavy Machinery/ Dumper.
