As a Program Operations Manager- Big Data Analytics, you will be responsible for the success of our blended learning programs for technology professionals starting with the Big Data Analytics program. It is a hybrid role where you will be integral to a range of technology projects as well as academic operations. On the technology side, you will work on areas such as configuration of an online Big Data Lab environment, co-development of technical assignments, and management of disparate data sources. Simultaneously, you will also be involved in content management, technical assignment administration, and supporting faculty to ensure high-quality learning outcomes.
You will work with a wide variety of technologies and be required to pick things up quickly
so you need to be a creative problem solver and be resourceful in getting things done. The other key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and managing the Big Data Lab online, working with our technology team and external vendors
- Co-designing technical content and problem sets, working closely with faculty
- Mentoring participants of the program (our participants are working professionals with technical background) through data analysis and programming assignments
- Instructing students on practical programming to support faculty's learning plan
- Source, select and maintain a variety of datasets for use in courses
- Collaborate with Program Managers to ensure a seamless experience and excellent learning outcomes
- Organize and support technical challenges to enhance learning outcomes
- Stay informed on latest technology developments and plugged into the technology community to ensure that our tech stack is contemporary
- Work closely with the Technology team to set up and maintain the Big Data Lab environment (tools include Hadoop, Spark, Tableau, Python and R) on a cloud environment on AWS
- Co-design technical assignments with senior faculty and industry experts the assignments should be rigorous enough to ensure a good learning outcome while being engaging enough to keep the student mulling over it on their way home
- Lead programming lab sessions for students once a month
- Provide online learning assistance (via messenger and discussion boards) as students work through assignments on the Big Data Lab
- Teach in classroom sessions on the use of selected Big Data tools and field queries from the class
Candidate Profile:
Should have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science from a premier engineering college
At least 2 years professional experience
Genuine interest in the learning process - teaching, training and assisted problem-solving
Fluent in at least one programming language, and have dabbled in others
Comfortable switching between different computing environments
Willing to learn new technologies through hands-on experimentation
Familiarity with Big Data technologies (desired but not essential)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented, self-driven individual who thrives with limited direction
