Production Manager - Food Industry

Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Scheduling:

- Develop and implement comprehensive production schedules, allocating resources effectively to meet output goals.

- Coordinate with various departments (sourcing, maintenance, quality assurance) to ensure smooth production flow.

Production Operations & Team Leadership:

- Lead and supervise production teams to achieve daily targets and maintain high levels of productivity and efficiency.

- Motivate and develop your team through effective coaching and training programs.

- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized production environment.

Quality Control & Regulatory Compliance:

- Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the production process to ensure consistent product quality.

- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations (FDA & others) and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.

Process Improvement & Continuous Improvement:

- Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Budget Management & Cost Control:

- Manage and control production budgets effectively, optimizing costs while maintaining quality standards.

Reporting & Strategic Planning:

- Prepare comprehensive production reports and performance metrics for management review.

- Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for the production department.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 4+ years of experience in a production management role within the food industry.

- Demonstrated understanding of food safety regulations and quality control principles (HACCP preferred).

- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Proficient in production planning and scheduling techniques.

- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and cost-control strategies (a plus).

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.

- Proficiency in using production management software and tools (a plus).

- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
