Responsibilities include:
Assisting in the development and execution of strategies that will provide customers (merchants) with a suite of Merchant Acquiring (POS) products that meet their needs. Build and maintain a Merchant Acquiring portfolio that is aligned to the business objectives and desired customer & employee experience, and contributes to increasing market share, share of wallet, customer retention, and product& customer profitability. Understand the economics of the P&L for the Merchant Acquiring Business.
Overseeing the product operations, right from developing the idea to mapping the framework. Liaising with the concerned departments especially with Technology, Operations, Sales Channels, Compliance, Legal, Branding & Marketing team, etc. Conceiving & implementing short and long-term business plans, establishing relationships with decision makers & influencers to strategically manage beneficial and profitable associations / alliances.
Developing business cases for new product/ process development with business partners as necessary to ideate, design, develop, test and launch new products/ processes.
Collaborating strategically with relevant business partners to increase the business volumes, brand value and expand the distribution channel.
Utilizing the market feedback to develop marketing intelligence for formulating the plans (both strategic as well as tactical) for the products.
Identifying new trends, evaluating major competitors & formulating business propositions.
Key Accountabilities:
New Business Development & Liability Generation:
1) To ensure incremental liability generation by helping the BANK acquire POS linked Current Accounts.
2) Devising new Merchant Acquiring programs to suit business requirements of different YBL business segments.
3) To assist the Channel/ Sales team in sourcing incremental Merchant Accounts by designing contests, launching promos, process/ product innovation,etc.
Sustained Revenue generation : To ensure that the Bank earns a healthy AMB income on all POS linked Current Accounts. Focus on increasing the transaction revenue to the Bank.
Risk Management:
1) Ensuring detailed Product documentation adhering to RBI guidelines and internal policies defined by the Bank's Compliance team.
2) Providing inputs on Merchant Acquiring processes with clear deviation/delegation matrices, exception management,etc.
3) Clean audit reporting, ensuring valid vendor agreements, SLAs, service provider agreements, etc.
Human Capital Management:
1) Conducting trainings for Sales/Branch teams
2) Service provider, vendor and network/association management
Systems Controls & Processes & Cost Management:
1) Provide inputs in setting up operations and systems for launching programs in Merchant Acquiring in consultation with TSG/NOC/Compliance and MCC teams
2) Monitor the Product PnL and Program PnLs
3) Delivering various MIS to monitor risk, customer service, etc.
Effective Cost Management:
1) Continuously drive lower costs with various vendor partners
2) Portfolio Analysis and Management
Vendor Management:
1. Work closely with the existing vendor ATOS to ensure day to day functioning through adequate control over inventory of various terminals (PSTN, GPRS, MPOS).
2. Ensure the payments to the vendor are processed with due diligence
3. Ensure adequate compliance is maintained by the partner in line with YES BANK LTD audit/ compliance requirement which are tuned to the RBI mandates from time to time
4. Identify alternate vendors to ensure continuity
5. Keep close control over the joint P&L of the program to ensure a win-win solution for all stakeholders
Desired Skills and Experience
- MBA Degree from Tier I/ Tier II colleges
- Good knowledge about the payments industry and Merchant Acquiring business
- At least 5-6 yrs prior experience in managing Product. Experience in the same industry would be preferred.
- Vendor/ business partner management skills would be a plus
- Should have the business acumen to understand the payments industry and help the organization develop new products/ services
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to influence cross functional team decisions
- Should be a team player with strong problem solving skills
- Decision making skills is a must
- Advanced skills in Ms Word, PowerPoint and Excel
