Product Manager - Lights
Responsible for the Product management for the Lighting Range. He/She will independently hold the P&L responsibility and drive REVENUE through the Sales team with a strategic objective to achieve both short term & long-term goals of the Company. Scope of work ranges across diversified channels - Trade Sales /Institutional Sales / Export, diversified product categories and Sourcing. Prior experience of handing volume of business around 100 Cr. from Lighting business is required.
Major Responsibilities :
- He/ She will initiate and implement measurable strategies that aid in driving the business's revenue and profit goals
- Developing Strategic Road Map (Long Term / Tactical) for the category from identifying new products/segments /specifications to packaging & delivery
- Drive Product Development Strategy, Make or Buy decision, Sourcing Strategy, Category growth, Pricing Strategy, Placement Strategy, Go to Market strategy, Inventory Control.
- Lead the implementation of defined NPD projects to launch extensions/offerings that build on the category offerings
- Reviewing and approving product and packaging for major launches and re-launches
- Carry research projects to improve consumer understanding and identify consumer insights
- Analyse the past sales data to understand the past programs/ activations/ schemes and suggest improvements to the category/ channel. Analyse the competitor movements and promotions according to the current trends
- Drive the entire Product Life cycle management from New Product Development to Go to market Strategy to Maximizing the Market share across all Categories, across geographies and Channels
- Mapping Competition / Markets trends / Channels to constantly evolve the Product Strategy of the Company
- Should be able to generate revenues & improve the business in each of the categories by conducting market research, competition analysis and identifying the gaps and plugging it
- Designing Trade Schemes, Trade Marketing activities and Pricing for the category
- Determining product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders
- Demand Planning & Forecasting for SKUs across all Sales Verticals
- Inventory Management
Key Strength & Experience Requirements:
- Graduate with an Engineering & Management degree
- Should have a good sense of business and P/L.
- Must possess good consumer knowledge
- Has to be creative, strategic, analytical and think outside the box
- Ability to deal with cross functional teams & get the work done
- Consumer insight generation through observing on consumer Behaviour
- Commercially savvy
- Person should have a good understanding of Market gap & need identification, Product Development, Pricing, Planning and Competitive Analysis
- High on energy, assertive with high maturity levels to deal with multiple stake holders
Experience: 7 + years of experience in managing Product, Positioning, Pricing, New Product development.
Skills: People Management, Extensive knowledge of Business, Marketing concepts, Product P&L Management
