Position Summary:
Reporting to the Executive Director, Product, the Senior/Product Manager of Platform has
- conversations with internal and external customers/stakeholders,
- understands the business problems,
- figures out use cases which solve the business problems,
- figures out ways to capture value through the use cases
- and works with Engineering, Devops, Sales, Marketing teams to bring AthenaHealth's Platform product to market.
Provide feature definition and prioritization. S/he is responsible for delivering extensible, flexible, usable software. S/he also works with other teams to ensure a coherent, forward looking product features. This position will work daily within scrum teams defining and writing user stories, prioritizing product backlogs, and making tradeoff decisions between scope and schedule.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
55% - Feature Definition, Prioritization and Execution of Product Roadmap
- Ability to map business requirements to technology pieces
- Ability to create products used at scale (10K RPS, PetaBytes of data)
- Work with other platform teams, app developers (inside and external to the company), Devops stakeholders, customers, and other stakeholders to define functional requirements, data and process workflows.
- Define epics and user stories, clearly articulating business requirements for the problems we- re trying to solve
- Understand the market opportunity via user needs, market forces and applicable business models; with regards to what would best serve our clients today as well as in the future
- Internalize how executive management is strategically moving the business to prepare Platform effectively for new products and M&A activity
- Identify and track metrics and success criteria to create transparency and visibility to program success and opportunities for improvement
- Partner with Product Management leaders to be the voice of product decisions within the organization
- Represent the customer for assigned product area, demonstrating responsibility for end-to-end customer journey and touchpoints
- Assist Product Management leaders in ID'ing business opportunities that will drive product success
- Partner with Program Management and interact with TechOps/DevOps team around requirements and roll out plans
- Monitor, anticipate, prioritize and resolve blockages, dependencies other issues.
45% Cross-Functional Coordination and Stakeholder Management
- Serve as Product Owner for scrum teams covering assigned product area
- Help to remove obstacles to effective and efficient product delivery from scrum teams
- Establish effective relationships with key stakeholders across athena in order to streamline process of gathering ideas/inputs that improve product decisions
- Partner with Product Management leaders to drive portfolio and product strategy
- Act as accountable party for the portfolio and product strategy of assigned product area, via product roadmaps
- Provide input to PRSM/portfolio planning process for assigned product area.
- Collaborate with others to develop expertise in market and competition for your services; Understanding what's next and when to stay the course
- Design alphas and beta to ensure proper feedback will be received
- Manage the priorities and expectations of multiple stakeholders (eg. customer, sales, partners) to gain inputs to portfolio
- Engage with Sales, AM, Product Marketing, and other internal partner teams as needed to determine best ways to communicate product to customers; and to assist Product Management leadership with service descriptions
- Contribute to the development of overall product management team by lending your knowledge and experience to teach others what you know - Learn from others based upon their experience in order to improve product owner capabilities
Education, Experience, & Skills Required:
- Should have been a Developer/Architect/Developer Evangelist previously for at least 5 years
- Experience with Agile development required
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8 years of professional experience with progressive responsibility in Developing Software products/services built on multiple sub-systems based business applications would be required
- Expertise with Cassandra, Redis, Kafka, Apache Storm, PubNub, Neo4J would be a plus
- Expertise in Twilio and Mailgun would be a plus
- Should have interacted and worked with US stake holders
- Open to travel to US for couple of weeks/quarter
