GMO Product Development accelerates change within the organization via a defined suite of automation tooling. This senior role will be accountable for driving the success and adoption of enabling tools, such as exception management, email management, workflow automation and process automation tools to automate and optimise business outcomes.
What will you be doing?
Governance/ Quality Control:
- Establish & maintain an inventory of automation assets e.g. Alteryx workflows
- Coordinate an annual ownership/validation review
- Maintain Data Quality (e.g. managing ownership transitions)
- Establish Best Practices/Guidelines & Controls
Identify & drive/enable opportunities:
- Establish an SME community to drive delivery in their areas
- Work closely with stakeholders including Technology and Operational Line teams
- Provide expertise & support for initial automation creation to encourage adoption
- Identify automation opportunities and create an Opportunity Suitability framework
- Identify, track & publish Key Performance Indicators to aid in measuring adoption & success
- Organise/Facilitate User Training
- Track licences & coordinate the prediction of ongoing needs
Other Product Development accountabilities may include:
- Establish and maintain a Product Roadmap for communication & transparency of product development plans
- Perform Product Design Thinking and UI Design - design intuitive, quality interfaces and workflows
- Perform requirements gathering/business analysis to capture as-is process and map to-be process
- Define & communicate a strategic Product Vision, inspiring confidence in stakeholders with the quality and conviction of this vision, building support and sponsorship at all levels and ensuring the need for change is embedded across the team
- Perform Business Analysis, create User Stories and work closely with the technology development team to ensure requirements are accurately mapped and suitable for development
- Build and refine a Product Backlog
- Run workshops with SMEs to understand the end-to-end process and any constraints and the suitability of the process for enhancement/automation.
- Analyse & Prioritise Feature requirements via story mapping
- Design Proof of Concepts / Prototypes / Pilots
- Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
- Work with Project Delivery regarding project/change management during process improvements and future business case funding proposals
- Apply a risk lens, balancing between short term (tactical) and long term (strategic) deliverables
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a recognised university
- Business/systems analyst experience with a focus on process improvements
- Financial services experience
- Understanding of agile delivery methodology
- Working knowledge/experience in Alteryx / Advanced Excel / VBA
- Strong skills in the use of documentation, planning, process mapping, and presentation software tools e.g. Advanced MS Office, SharePoint, Visio skills, MS Access
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong relationship building and collaboration skills with proven experience working with senior management.
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Business or process analytics and the ability to translate into detailed business requirements.
- Implementation of Operations and Technology projects - particularly process automation
- High level understanding of the trade lifecycle and operational functions, including: Trade Management, Confirmations, Collateral & Portfolio Management, Client Valuations, Settlement & Asset Servicing, Reference Data
- High level knowledge & experience of Capital Markets Product Families
- Ability to liaise between the business, IT and the functions to create common terminology by moving away from technical or product specific references
- Preferred Knowledge of process modelling & operational modelling tools e.g. Blueworks Live, visio-swimlanes
- Preferred MBA (Finance)
- Preferred Certified in Prince 2/PMP
