Product Head - Search Engineering - eCommerce

Helping create a world-class product search engine SE Asia's leading ecommerce company through maximising the quality and effectiveness fo the search experience for visitors

- Creating tools & processes for product data acquisition, ingestion and enrichment to ensure product data is of high quality

- Spearheading cross-functional efforts to effectively execute and deliver the product roadmap

- Leading ideation, development, launch, and iteration of approaches to improve search for our site across desktop, mobile and apps

- Working with a data scientist to develop new search algorithms and methods for

- Applying Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques to optimize the value to end-users and improve customer retention (knowledge in these areas a big plus)

- Applying scientific analysis and mathematical modelling techniques to predict, measure and evaluate the consequences of designs and the ongoing success of our software

- Ability to focus on scalability, latency, performance, robustness, and cost trade-offs

- The ideal candidate has a strong background in implementing ecommerce product search systems including:

- Developing state-of-the-art search relevancy ranking algorithms with particular regard for product search

- At least 5 years- experience in natural language programming experience including semantic technologies and machine learning for entity recognition, parts-of-speech tagging, etc.

- Experience with personalisation of product listings is a strong plus

- Experience working with state-of-the-art search relevancy ranking algorithms

-Knowledge of latest developments in search and how to use data to improve user engagement

- Deep knowledge of web standards, design and usability

- Self-starter mentality with ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline-driven environment

- Experience with SE Asian language parsing, tokenising and processing, particularly Thai, Vietnamese and Bahasa Indonesia is a strong plus

- Experience with price matching / product competitive intelligence is a strong advantage
