A senior technical leader with 15+ years of experience in engineering and development of highly-scalable (more than 100 mn users) internet consumer services like Video Chat, Live Chat, Video-on-Demand, Video calling etc..
- Must have experience in entire life cycle management of products
- Given the strong in-house expertise in the telecom technology stack, the current focus in on hiring a leader with a strong background of building large-scale internet consumer services
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 15 years for senior technical leadership experience in leading world-class research and development organizations.
Qualifications / Education:
- Strong technical education and background:
- Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science / Electronics) from top tier Indian (IIT, IITs and NITs) and global schools (e,g. CMU, UPenn, MIT etc.)
- Preferably, Master of Science or PhD in computer science and technology from a reputed institution in India (IISc, IIT etc.) or globally (e.g. MIT, CMU, UPenn etc.)
Roles and responsibilities:
Product management:
- Overall Product Engineering responsibility of all the Media Services offerings (viz. Live TV, Video on Demand, Streaming Music, eBooks, FM Radio, eNews Paper,etc.) and communication services (Voice + Video Call, Video Messaging)
- Ensure development of consistent user experience through standardized interfaces across all consumer facing services (connectivity, communications and VAS)
- Drive product differentiation and edge relative to the market
- Lead the periodic review and de-bottlenecking of the product development activities
Product Engineering:
- Provide guidance to individual platform leads in engineering of each of the services.
- Ensure compliance with all the regulatory requirements
- Ensure timely delivery of each technology platform and consumer facing services by de-bottleneck proactively when needed
- Drive the integration across the technology stack. Ensure consumer services platforms (e.g. communications, connectivity, video services etc.) interact in real-time with the centralized platforms such as Big Data, Payments, and Security etc.
- Work with marketing teams to incorporate product changes for supporting marketing campaigns (e.g .bundling of services, free trial periods etc.) / addressing market trends etc.
