We are looking for Product Head - Buying Experience role for flagship digital commerce venture of an Indian multinational conglomerate, having a unique omni-channel marketplace model. It is a multi-category e-commerce platform, operating across categories such as Fashion, Footwear and Accessories, Electronics and Luxury.
1. KEY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB :
To oversee and manage the product and it's all touchpoints for consumer buying journey. The person is responsible for all organization level metrics for buying experience (Web/App/PWA) which include Search, SEO, A/B Testing frameworks, Home/PLP/PDP/BLP/LPs, Cart, Checkout, Promotions, and payments. He/She will be responsible for product planning and execution as well. This is inclusive of gathering and prioritizing requirements for the product, defining the vision for the product, and collaborating with other senior leaders from the engineering, marketing, design, business and operations departments in order to ensure that the financial and consumer experience goals are met.
2. MAJOR DELIVERABLE :
- This role is for the Head of Product for buying experience - platform (across all channels : app, mobile web and desktop web)
- It entails complete ownership of the strategy and roadmap for the same / with conversion metric, buying experience and NPS as the primary north- star objectives
- The owner of this mandate is responsible to manage all aspects of this experience throughout its life cycle, including product strategy development, customer insights/needs, and requirements definition
- Partner with CEO, CTO, CPO/Product Head to align with objectives, priorities, trade-offs and risk
- Also needs to partner with the other business leaders to define and drive substantial parts of the customer experience for the respective categories.
- You would also manage a high-performing team, and would need to coach, guide mentor them to build a truly delightful and seamless experience
- Drive the execution and delivery of features by collaborating with many cross-functional teams, architects, product owners and engineers
- Build a strong methodology of ideation, innovation & process efficiencies that impacts customer experience, revenue growth and customer repeat and retention.
- Rigorously monitor key performance metrics and coordinate with various teams to take corrective actions if needed.
- Gather detailed functional requirements and create product requirement (PRDs) and other documents to support rapid development and effectively manage trade-offs between costs / schedules versus customer benefits.
- Ensure PRDs, flow diagrams and wireframes are properly translated to live site and drive problem resolution once new features have gone live.
- Maintain end-to-end ownership of product recommendation A/B testing efforts from design through analysis and recommendations. Maximize revenues from product recommendations across multiple sites through ongoing optimization efforts using champion/challenger (A/B testing)
- Align with merchants and business partners to identify ways of improving the on-site search and product recommendation experience, and conversion strategies that vary across categories
- Along with defining the vision and creating the strategy, you will also be closely involved in overall prioritization of the product
- Act as subject matter expert for search and product recommendation tools and processes, and provide regular consulting expertise for site improvement projects
- Maintain end-to-end ownership of optimization of conversion rates related to payments
- Owning the experience journey of the checkout and payment process.
What Will You Do :
Product : Consumer empathy, Product road maps, Go to market, inception & conception of products, competitive analysis, market & domain research, Co-owning product vision.
Technology : Know-how of technology that goes behind the product, high level of understanding of the impact of technology on the product road map and overall health of the product.
Business : Market intelligence (market, customer, competition), life-cycle management, finding growth, product support, sales support etc.
ATTRIBUTES :
- A Bachelor's degree in technology is required; Post-graduate is an advantage
- Previous experience of at least 12 years working in an E-commerce environment, preferably in a revenue optimization or product management role
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to synthesize data into recommendations
-Experience with short release cycles, the full software lifecycle, and experience working on a product that has been released for public consumption
- Experience in hiring smart, talented engineers, product managers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Passion for understanding customers and their behaviour
- Ability to manage managers of managers and directly manage a few product managers and lead a high performing team of product, design, technology and business folks.
- Demonstrated experience in working across multiple products in a BU, its stakeholders and demonstrate a high degree of influence across several teams/functions.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Highly customer obsessed thinking with deep understanding of customer needs and aspirations.
- Previous start-up and/or consulting experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to work under pressure in time critical situations.
