Job Description:

The Manager has oversight responsibility for the execution and review of mutual fund reporting activities of the PFR ( Product Financial Reporting) production workgroups.

- The Manager communicates and coordinates with the PCS (Fund Owner) Teams at various global sites to ensure tasks are completed timely, accurately, and in adherence of key controls, and that activities are carried out in accordance with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures.

Production Management

- Oversee the production of quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial reporting based on specific standards and requirements, as applicable per jurisdiction.

- Perform quality reviews of reporting output to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness, consistency, and adherence to internal controls.

- Provide status updates on deliverables to Senior Manager on regular basis and act as a point of contact for escalated issues and communicate resolutions.

- Maintain and monitor Time utilization sheets for all staff to improve efficiencies in the process.

- Make decisions regarding system issues, troubleshoot problems as they arise and ensure open and thorough communication with Senior Manager.

- Escalate proactively any issue affecting deliverables or SLA to Senior Manager so that corrective action can be taken.

- Support Senior Manager in planning for business continuity events and participating in BC drills.

Leadership and Development:

- Provide overall planning and direction of the department by reviewing and developing procedures and scheduling work within the workgroups.

- Responsible for efficiency and productivity of team, as well as leadership of quality initiatives.

- Responsible for staff under his or her direction, ensure that they receive adequate training, appropriate development, and provide support and guidance as they carry out their tasks and assignments.

- Provide performance feedback on all staff members to Senior Manager and provide recommendations for promotions or performance management. Establish, promote and maintain a productive, efficient and professional working environment.

- Promote a “Global One Team” culture within organisation to leverage job knowledge and create and implement standardize processes to promote consistency among company locations. Leverage and adopt global best practice where feasible.

- Liaise with HR on recruitment and people issues. Conduct interviews and ensure that issues are addressed efficiently and policy and procedures are adhere to.

Other Responsibilities:

- Lead or participate in cross-site projects.

- Work globally with the PCS (Fund Owner) Teams, including liaising with NAV Analysis, TACC and IO to implement improvements to processes and create efficiencies in workflow.

- Ensure that product initiatives are incorporated into production.

- Facilitate communication/meetings with key clients regarding hand-offs or adhoc requests.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

(Years of experience is not applicable for European jobs)

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with coursework in intermediate and advanced accounting

- 7 or more years of financial accounting experience with at least 2 years of financial services or financial reporting and should also have experience of security market.

- Must possess good working knowledge of security market, financial services, financial instruments, and accounting standards

- At least 3 years of departmental management and supervisory experience

- Must have experience with automated financial systems, including a general ledger

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

- Accounting certification (CPA or CA or CWA) preferred

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

- Graduate level courses in accounting or an advanced degree or certification in finance, accounting, or management preferred

- Experience in audit, taxation and statutory matters preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

- Excellent attention to details

- Ability to maintain current knowledge of procedures, products, regulations, and industry issues and communicate such knowledge as appropriate

- Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks, prioritize and oversee work assignments to meet deadlines

- Must have excellent oral and written English communication skills

- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with senior management and the PCS (Fund Owner) Teams, as well as subordinate staff

- Ability to identify opportunities to improve and/or enhance processes within teams and within the division

- Ability to work under pressure

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING

- Exercises independent judgment and implement strategic solutions to problems or process improvements and ensures solutions are consistent with business objectives

- Ability to identify, escalate and communicate complex issues

- Ability to analyze errors and follow through to resolution. Act as the first point of contact for the PCS (Fund Owner) team on resolving issues

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to sit in one place for extended periods of time

- Ability to hear and speak to employees and outside business associates on the phone and in person

- Requires moderate right and left had coordination for use of personal computer

- Ability to articulate information to both internal and external customers in a manner that is clear and easily understood

- Ability to interpret the letters and numbers on a personal computer screen and on memos, reports, and other documents

- Ability to maintain a professional image

- May be required to work outside of normal business hours and/or extended hours as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

- Provide guidance and direction to the production staff to ensure the department’s tasks are planned, organized, monitored and completed in a timely and successful manner

- Ensure that staff performance issues are resolved and appropriate feedback is provided

- Supervise/manages nonexempt and exempt staff; makes hire, recommend termination and promotion of staff.
