Product Engineering & Business Head - For a B2C Tech Platform ! Mumbai
Our client is a large and fast growing services organization based in India.
About:
- This mandate is for a tech product firm with a large B2C market.
- To augment their growth they are hiring for a Product Engineering + Business Head who will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of the business unit's operations and performance.
- This includes owning the P&L, leading product strategy, and driving growth.
- Your role will involve working cross-functionally with product, marketing, and sales teams to ensure the platform's commercial success and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage full P&L responsibilities for the business, ensuring alignment with growth and profitability goals.
- Define and execute the strategic vision for the business unit.
- Continuously refine the product offering based on market research, customer feedback, and emerging trends.
- Lead long-term planning and strategic decision-making for market expansion, partnerships, and product innovation.
- Develop and execute scalable growth, sales and revenue strategies, focusing on customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.
- Lead the sales and revenue strategy to ensure the achievement of sales targets, including subscription models, partnerships, and B2B collaborations (universities, corporate partners).
- Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, and innovative distribution channels.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing business unit, including teams across sales, marketing, product, and operations.
- Ensure seamless collaboration with the tech and product development teams to achieve operational efficiency and execution.
Key Qualifications:
- An education in engineering (an MBA is optional).
- Proven experience of 8-15 years of which at least 3 years in a senior leadership role in tech products.- Preferably have been responsible for building / engineering a B2C Tech product / startup - Must have a deep understanding of tech products / platforms / SAAS / HRTech / MarTech / HealthTech / InsureTech / EdTech etc.- Strong P&L management experience with a focus on growth and profitability.- Must have a deep understanding of the customer journey in an online platform setting.
- Exceptional strategic thinking, with a proven track record of delivering business growth through innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in scaling tech platforms or products from early stages is highly desirable.
