The role comprises of 70% technical-30 % managerial job and the applicant should have hands on coding.
Qualifications:
- BE, B.tech( CS, Information Technology or equivalent)
- 10+ years of experience with at least 1 year in an Engineering Management or Project Management role with preferred experience building desktop software
- Experience in managing all phases of the software release lifecycle
- Strong understanding of how the technology works incorporating the following programming languages & technologoes: C/C++, COM/ATL, Win32, Multithreading, Android\iOS experience, Javascript, jQuery
- Assertive self-starter with strong organizational skills
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret complex information, talk with internal and external customers and listen attentively
- Effectively build interpersonal relationship skills in order to establish working relationships with direct reports, peers and colleagues
- Able to handle stressful situations in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Evolve the work environment to instill an atmosphere that supports the growth of the company
- Provide daily coaching and direction for direct reports, as required
- Conduct annual performance appraisals and employee development plans as needed
- Identify career paths and create career succession planning for direct reports
- Identify and provide skills training as required
- Contribute towards R & D recruitment as well as in company recruitments as required
- Recommend career promotions, transfers and annual compensation packages
Technical Responsibilities:
- Manage releases in accordance with a planned time line
- Drive the development of detailed functional specifications of the designated product releases and projects
- Collaborate effectively with the Development Leads, Software Engineers, Product Manager and other QA engineers to deliver high quality of our technology, customer experience and product usability and timely delivery
- Manage, commit and schedule people, resources and time
- Aid in key Engineering-wide initiatives. Work effectively with the Engineering-wide Product Development Management team to suggest new initiatives to improve product quality and organizational effectiveness
- Recommend feature/quality/time tradeoff decisions for all designated product releases and projects
