Role: Product Design Engineering Manager
- Engineering Leader will be responsible to lead the HTS E&ES Europe team at HTS Bangalore and work with partner locations globally. Primary responsibility is to manage the end to end product development, Technology leadership, program planning and strategy, budgetary planning, resource management and project delivery and innovation by working closely with global engineering and marketing and business leaders.
- The candidate will be completely responsible for delivery functions for the E&ES working with his delivery teams, CoEs, as well as other functional teams in the organization on a case-to-case basis. He will also be responsible as the account manager for the business in that context working with partner locations.
- The Engineering Leader will be responsible for the technical solution (working with project leads, technology specialists, System Engineers, tech leads and team leads, as the case may be) and also with the program management function (Scope, risk, schedule, communication, quality, cost, procurement, external relations and resources, where applicable), conforming to the NPI processes defined by the businesses.
- He will be responsible for ensuring execution excellence in his teams encompassing the processes, continuous improvements, partner satisfaction, and capability building in the team. This person shall be responsible for the overall selection, training and retention of the team members by directing the first level leaders effectively.
She/he shall also be responsible for the group's financial planning and management jointly with the domain leader and global engineering leaders. He/she is expected to understand partners- businesses and identify opportunities where HTS can contribute to the growth of the business. Driving growth of Honeywell in the region by closely working with the regional sales and marketing will be an area where the candidate can demonstrate his/her passion for growth for Honeywell business.
TECHNOLOGICAL & BUSINESS : Responsible for HTS E&ES Europe GBE level Product development, Technology leadership, program planning and strategy, budgetary planning, resource management and project delivery and innovation by working closely with global engineering and marketing and business leaders. Owns overall technical responsibility from a total solution product development perspective for all activities in the Line of Business & oversees on-time delivery with highest levels of quality, predictability, productivity, thoroughness & robustness.
- Works closely with regional and global product offering & marketing leaders for idea conceptualization and drive growth. Provides periodic inputs to higher management on business trends, growth opportunities, performance metrics etc. Works with cross-functional teams like Program Management, System Engineering HUE, & Process organization.
- Builds and maintains relationship with global partners, end customers and executive leadership to develop business. Be the primary interface & contact from HTS for the CoE Leadership team and drive execution excellence
Management by Metrics : Establish systems for Collection and analysis of metrics, establish performance capability baselines and devise improvement actions and track them
STRATEGIC IMPACT : Contributes to GBE technology strategy development. Actively pursues knowledge of competitive technology options and evaluates potential. Uses market and customer knowledge for growth direction. Leverages networks to improve productivity.
Drive innovation culture in the GBE and channelizes the ideas into business STRAP/objectives. Manages the AOP ((Annual Operating Plan) Execution. Drive Cost & Productivity Initiatives. Nurture and Develop Core Capabilities.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: People management including goal setting, appraisal, periodic engagement meetings through a set of first level people leaders. Plan and execute actions for people development and career planning flowing from MRR. Effectively manages and influences team and the culture in the GBE through effectively hiring strategy, rewarding and motivating strategy and talent differentiation for high performance. Develops people and competencies that are required for future growth with specific emphasis on building top talent for key leadership positions and tracks succession depth for all key positions. Exerts leadership & influence in developing and maintaining Organizational values, systems & culture, process maturity that ensure highest value to the SBU partners & HON customers
COMMUNICATION : Develops network to be tuned into customer's opinion and working relationship with HTSL. Builds relationships and collaborates with business partners and stakeholders in SBGs/SBUs. Frequently interacts with customers, and peer group Business leaders on various Business aspects. Participates in Industry forums in related business areas. Demonstrates effective negotiation skills that result in win-win situations. Communicates linkages of program results to organizational strategies and values.
Qualification :
- The candidate should be an engineering graduate/post-graduate with good academic record.
- The candidate should have 10 years of experience in software product development & product support (buildings/industries experience would be an added advantage), with good appreciation of different software technologies and with a good track record of delivery in software development.
- Candidate should have good embedded software knowledge. Knowledge of wireless communication protocols will be an advantaged
- Solutions architecture experience (IoT) would be a huge plus
- Knowledge of connected home/buildings domain will be an advantage
- He/She should have good knowledge of product development right from market needs understanding till deployment, also should have an in depth knowledge of product maintenance and product support after market release.
- He/She should have knowledge of testing and debugging tools for software development.
