Product Analyst


Key Responsibilities :


- A product analyst liaises with product managers to help ensure that the product offers and provides capabilities that are suited to targeted market segments and demographics.


- The product analyst will analyze the market and use data to understand how to improve the product and delight users.


The following are the key role and responsibilities of a product analyst :

1. Measuring and monitoring the product or service's performance as well as presenting product related consumer, market, and competitive intelligence

2. Monitors the market, competitor activities, as well as any price movements and make recommendations that will be used in key decision making

3. Drives consumer intelligence through the development of external and internal data sources that improve the business's understanding of the product's market, competitor activities, and consumer activities

4. Develops or adopts research tools, sources, and methods that further support and contribute to the business's product marketing management intelligence

5. Performs the initial product analysis to assess the need for any requested changes as well as their potential impact

6. Supports product teams in their product decisions using quantitative data to inform the next steps

7. Creates metrics, or use existing ones, and monitor them to evaluate if the product direction is making users happy

8. Understand metrics, as it's not always obvious why a metric changed in a certain way

9. Undertakes exploratory data analysis by understanding what data exists, importing it, cleaning it, and asking tons of questions

10. Provide timely data insights

11. Undertakes financial modelling on the products or services of the business as well as of the target markets to bring about an understanding of the relations between the product and the target market.

12. Produces reports and makes recommendations to be used as guidance in decision making pertinent to the business's new as well as existent products.

Key Competencies :

1. Knowledge and experience with tool like MySQL, Power BI, R & Python

2. Experience with Google Analytics and App conversion analytics is a plus

3. A minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field

4. Understanding of and experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units

5. Exposure to Natural Language Processing techniques for Sentiment Analysis, Text Classification, Comment Analysis (Preferred)

6. Ability to independently plan and execute deliverables Ability to multitask and work on a diverse range of requirements
