We, Empyrean Partners, one of India’s leading search and selection firm, are looking for Specialist (Procurement) position for an International Management Consulting Firm

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Practice Area strives to help our clients create competitive advantage in operations by enhancing their performance and building strategic capabilities. he company's expertise in Operations covers the following topics:

- Creating a winning operations strategy -- operating model, operational transformation, and turnaround

- Improving operations processes – research and product development, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, service operations

- Building operational excellence – asset productivity, cost efficiency, lean advantage, outsourcing and business-process off shoring, quality, and complexity

- Driving sustainable impact – change management, rigorous program management, and enablement.

- The ideal candidate for this position will have deep topic expertise and experience in the operational realities of purchasing, sourcing and management of goods and services. Experience with organization, process, systems and governance issues as they relate to procurement.

- Candidates with commercial and/or industrial buying experience are preferred. The candidate will have als - demonstrated people management skills, leadership and influencing skills, as well as passion for the topic and helped companies excel in execution.

- Recognition for his expertise in procurement (introduced innovative thinking or processes, external or internal speeches or presentations in his/her field of procurement expertise) will be highly recognized.

The professional will support procurement topic initiatives and Topic Leadership by supporting the execution of the procurement topic strategy through content development, research support, writing assistance, internal topic engagement, presentations and other aspects of topic development and dissemination.

BASIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Establishes credibility with clients and case teams as a procurement and sourcing topic expert; takes positions/draws conclusions on a range of external and internal issues;as recognized as a global expert

- Participates in case team meetings in expert role (e.g., coaches team members) and interacts with clients as needed

- Takes a lead role in supporting company's partners and principals on proposal and lead preparation

- Assists others in navigating the Knowledge network by connecting them with materials and people

- Supports development of the procurement topic fot the Operations practice area

- Helps manage agenda for procurement for PA events at the regional and global level and executes the topic strategy together with the Topic Leaders and global topic expertise team

- Develops specialized knowledge that can be leveraged across the practice; regularly presents own original content in PA and client settings

- Helps develop key PA tools where applicable such as PEM, Procurement Excellent Monitor and others…

- Edits external and internal PA publications/communications as appropriate

- Represents the practice at external events related to Procurement and Sourcing

- Supports the local office – training KT colleagues / consultants

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- 7+ years of relevant work experience (relating to procurement, sourcing, supply management and operations) or 4+ years of consulting firm experience within the procurement and/or operations topic area

- Deep experience in Procurement and Operations topics.
