Private Equity Researcher - Investment

Primary duties include:

- Analyzing financial statements prepared by fund managers, which includes the compilation of fund and underlying portfolio company performance;

- Recording and reconciling cash flows arising from the underlying investments

- Assisting with ad-hoc analyses as they relate to key monitoring aspects of funds

- Detail / Process Orientation: The successful candidate should have the ability to process and verify large financial data sets that require meticulous searches and tracking of numerous exceptions. Documentation and relentless follow-up on exceptions will be required.

In addition, the desired candidate should be able to scrutinize a set of information with a critical eye as opposed to making assumptions or quick judgments. Finally, the desired candidate will thrive in a process-oriented environment and be comfortable in adhering to processes and controls that have a particular execution methodology.

- Communication skills: Written and verbal communication with clients, investment managers and within the team is exceedingly important. We are looking for an individual who is comfortable interfacing with peers, managers and clients and is able to articulate complex issues clearly, concisely and convincingly. While financial knowledge is necessary, the ability to write and to verbally communicate is equally critical.

- Desire to excel: Applicant should be able to work with limited supervision, multi-task, adapt to changing priorities, take initiative, be punctual and continually strive to broaden the scope of the position. We are looking for an individual who has a strong presence, is highly responsible and efficient, and is intellectually curious with a desire for professional growth. The individual will also exhibit self-sufficiency, enabling one to find solutions and offer recommendations when confronted by an issue not previously encountered.

- Team player: We are looking for someone who understands the notion of "global responsibility" and exhibits a strong interest in stepping outside of one's daily tasks to help facilitate others' growth and success.

- Technically proficient: The desired candidate will be able to navigate through fund financial statements and other financial documents produced by fund managers, including cash flow notices, capital account statements, and others.

- Platforms: Candidate must have advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.

Candidate should have the ability to quickly learn and adapt to or have practical experience working with large enterprise-class accounting systems.
