Job Description
A comprehensive Deal making role focused on creating new opportunities, businesses and revenue streams. An exciting career opportunity providing the scope for lateral thinking, innovation and end to end ownership of deals (Committing capital, Deployment of capital and Releasing of capital)
Business Development : Identify companies by creating databases, research their business, financials and media needs; focus to get larger deals in marquee companies; generate fresh business leads; make innovative pitch presentations; structure win-win proposals, evaluate follow-on visits to prospective clients and design target achievement strategy in order to explore the full potential of assigned verticals.
Deal Closure: Structure deals ;including valuation and negotiation; related documentation , monitor financial performance of signed deals, trouble-shoot problems and resolve issues; ensure legal agreements mirror the commercials; co-ordinate with concerned teams; perform due diligence , achieve Trimester and Annual Deal Targets.
Relationship Management: Maintain relationship with key position holders of existing and prospective clients; maintain rapport with internal departments with a long term perspective and to achieve client satisfaction. Tracking and engaging with existing clients to ensure profitable deployment of capital.
People Management: Monitor performance of team on a monthly basis; conduct monthly audits and reviews and recommend course correction; conduct annual appraisals; interviews and recruit any gaps in team in order to ensure that team remains committed and consistently delivers high performance.
Industry & Market Intelligence: Keep abreast with developments of the sector and create opportunities for the fund - Should be aware of market dynamics; analyze and assess opportunities, threats and solutions.
Exit: Track performance of portfolio companies; strategize to make them ready for a liquidity event and facilitate the exit of our stake in a profitable manner.
Knowledge and skills
1. Experience in working with Private Equity /M&A/Investment Banking/Consulting/Entrepreneurial fields
2. Ability to build business through strong Business development/Client servicing
3. Ability to map the industry, spot new opportunities and tap on to them at the right time.
4. Excellent negotiation & decision making skills to ensure closures on contracts.
5. Excellent leadership, networking and people skills
6. Eye for detail and multi tasking
Education & Experience
1. MBA from top tier B-school
2. 10-15 years of overall experience, 6-7 years preferably in Consulting/Investment Banking/PE
