The candidate will work along with other data scientist and analysts to develop products that generate key insights on industry trend by applying various machine learning and data science techniques on proprietary as well as open data sources. The person will need to coordinate with Product managers, Industry Analysts and Technology experts to develop and deliver the product in accordance with customer requirements and agreed timeline.
Duties and responsibilities
- Drive complex analytical projects by leading and participating in tasks that use advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
- Apply knowledge of various machine learning techniques and best practices in data science to improve exiting analytics products or develop new products
- Work with business stakeholders and product managers to deliver outstanding products that exceed customer expectations
- Handle project management and stakeholder management activities and take full ownership of quality and timeliness of product deliverables.
- Gather knowledge about the maritime industry and its interrelationship with various economic and policy decision as relates to clients in Financial markets and Shipping industry
- Train and mentor junior team members on use of correct statistical techniques and logical frameworks for problem solving
Business competencies
Essential
- 10+ years of progressive professional experience with 5+ years of experience in Advanced Analytics / Data Science
- Good understanding of fundamental concepts in statistics, statistical and machine learning and experience in applying these techniques in real world projects involving complex data manipulation and modeling
- Experience developing time series forecasting solution using advanced techniques like ARIMAX, BSTS, ARCH/GARCH, VAR, Dynamic Regression etc.
- Good knowledge of Econometric modeling techniques like Generalized linear models, Probit/Logit Regression, Cointegration, Causality Test etc.
- Ability to perform complex data analysis and statistical modelling in Python/R
- Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and experience working with SQL
- Understanding of data visualization principles and experience with data visualization tools
- Master's or higher degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics) or Data science certification from premier institute.
