Principal Business Analyst-Mumbai(Andheri+BKC)

We are looking for a Business Analyst + Project Manager in the banking domain to lead the business analysis and project delivery of a high-profile bank in India.

Designation: Principal Business Analyst

Job Location: Mumbai (Andheri + BKC)

Role Responsibilities:

- Interview with business users to perform high level scoping of the project

- Conduct analysis of data and as-is business process, spotting trends and relationships

- Gather to-be data/business requirements and document these to create BRDs and obtain sign-off

- Translate BRDs into language understandable by technologists

- Participate with technologists in design/solutioning discussions

- Contribute & review test strategy/plans; assist business users in their acceptance testing

- Prepare user guides and other material relevant for ongoing operations

- Build a strong & clear vision and business objectives for the project

- Prepare detailed project plan covering all project activities, dependencies, resource loading and schedule

- Manage all project constraints: scope, cost, people, quality & schedule and be in complete control of the project

- Identify changes to scope and initiating change management processes as necessary

- Anticipate risks & problems and proactive solve them

- Ensure project governance as per set standards

- Proactively provide accurate project status/MIS to all project stakeholders

- Contribute towards developing project standards and best practices

- Manage client relationships and ensuring client satisfaction with regards to work deliverables

- Engage various levels of stakeholders, both internal & external, by having a clearly laid out communications plan and working as per the plan

- Build a working escalation structure and leveraging the escalation points to ensure interventions as necessary to keep the project on track

- Build a personal rapport with the key stakeholders and becoming a trusted advisor

- Work closely with Business Development teams to identify additional revenue opportunities

Requirements:

- Established leadership credentials in delivering IT projects in the Indian banking industry as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager. Managed team size of 5-20 people across geographies

- Strong domain knowledge and experience in banking specific data systems and processes. Regulatory Reporting domain knowledge preferred.

- Knowledge of data management and data modeling concepts and practices is a plus

- Comfortable working with structured data in various formats (fixed length, comma/tab delimited, SQL data)

- Experience in interpreting "raw" detailed written business rules

- Provide high quality support to customer needs and support data transformation and development, data quality analysis, uncovering data insights, resolving data and business inquiries

- Demonstrable data skills such as profiling, data quality assessment, mapping and data lineage

- Have a very good understanding and experience of data manipulation, report generation and data validation procedures;

- Must be able to elicit high-level requirements from business users

- Must be able to understand a given product architecture & design and functionality

- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office toolset (Word, Excel)

- Working knowledge with any reporting or Business Intelligence tools

- Experience / Education / Certifications

- Bachelor's or master's degree with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, or economics

- 10+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 2 years of data transformation experience

- CBAP and/or PMP certification preferred
