Objective : Design & User Experience Lead would play a pivotal role in product/platform wide design decisions across all VES and creating a center of excellence for UX. To work with business, senior management, development teams across VES in addition to leading a team of designers, market analysts, usability experts and front end developers to ensure that VES has the best in class UX practices and is always ahead of the competition in terms of product appeal and desirability.
Skillset
- Professionally trained designers with B.Des / M.Des / Equivalent.
- Proficient in principles of Information Architecture, HCI & Interaction Design, Graphic design along with a high degree of aesthetic sensitivity.
- Proficient with software applications like Adobe Creative suite, MS Office, Visio/Omnigraffle. Knowledge of 3d software eg: 3DS Max/ Maya in addition to the above would be desirable.
- Familiar with developing conceptual prototypes on Flash/Dreamweaver/Auxure
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 12+ years of design experience
- Experienced in designing interfaces for the web and mobile devices.
- Should have a creative portfolio
- Good people management skills with prior experience in managing a creative team.
- Good written communication skills.
- Good Presentation & verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and strives for timely completion.
- Customer focused and collaborative
- Openness to new ideas, inclusion & diversity, integrity, and respect viewpoints of others
- Ability to work under pressure and set high standards and extra hours if needed on assignments
- Builds strong relationships within and outside of own work area to create a basis for future influence.
- Displays the courage to highlight possible risks in decisions or planned actions.
- Keen follower/ user of the latest consumer technology and being up to date on the trends and practices within the design industry.
Execution Challenges:
- Proactively work with the business, leadership and technical teams to provide the best user experience within tight delivery timelines.
- Constantly analyze and prioritize deliverables to exceed customer & business expectations.
- Effectively support the development teams across Chennai and Hyderabad in terms of design production, guidance on HCI issues.
- Constantly monitor the product during the development phase, identify deviations from design specs, understand associated risks & proactively solve them.
- Ensure strict adherence to delivery timelines and project plans while accommodating last minute change requests
- Ensure compliance in role and responsibility and communicate issues and ideas to resolve problems.
- Document recommendations, compliments, complaints, concerns
- Involve all stakeholders to have their commitment and support towards a common goal and constant review with time lines.
- Identify risks (failure possibilities) and monitor.
- Timely escalation of issues.
