Role: Presales / Sales Consulting Engineer (Managerial level)

- Technical Solution Architect / Pre-sales Engineers work with our sales teams to create winning solutions that will offer the client value and, just as important, solutions that are technically viable and profitable. They ensure that we propose only what we can deliver, that we identify and manage risk, optimizing our solutions by incorporating standard service products and by using global delivery wherever possible in our proposed solutions.
- The roles are client facing and the work is interesting and varied. Naturally, the job also comes with all the pressures that you would expect in a commercial environment, working on large and complex bids.
- The roles attracts people who are looking to stretch their technical skills, broaden their commercial abilities and who enjoy challenging themselves to excel on a daily basis.
Skills/Experience requirements:
Mandatory Skills/Experience
- Self-starter/Self-motivated, team player with 5+ years in the networking profession
- Ability to translate customer requirements into advanced technical solutions
- Ability to clearly articulate technical designs, constraints, processes, etc.
- Broad knowledge of a range of networking areas, with specialism in one or more (Network & security strategy and assessment, architecture & design, LAN/WAN, Telepresence, Wireless, Unified Comms, IP Telephony, IPCC etc.).
- Pre-sales / bid-team experience including creation of cost models, SOWs, response to RFI/RFP etc.
- Delivering against challenging time frames either alone, or as part of a team
- Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills for C-Level clients e.g. CIO, CTO, CFO
- Able to work in a team of experienced solutioners
Desired Skills/Experience
- Experienced across a wide variety of vendor technologies (CISCO, Juniper, Avaya, etc)
- CISCO CCIE etc.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and provide technical leadership during pre-sales activities with clients (briefings, workshops, POCs, etc.)
- Provide support directly to client sales teams for customer meetings etc.
- Help qualify client opportunities from a technical perspective
- Select the appropriate product and service offerings that will meet a client's business objectives
- Team extensively across sales/presales, business and delivery
- Be expected to manage multiple deals at a time
- Typical contract value ranges from $200k to $30m
- Provide networking technology advice and guidance as required to other TSMs
- Take E2E ownership of the complete technical solution and costing, including managing inputs from business partners and suppliers.
- Need to be mobile and prepared for international travel
Required
- Bachelor"s degree
- Detailed knowledge of physical and logical consolidation and virtualisation solutioning : Applied
- Detailed knowledge of WAN / MPLS technologies: Applied
- Detailed knowledge of DC migration methodology : Applied
- Need to be articulate, able to handle pressure, deliver against challenging time frames, and be confident and decisive. : Applied
- Able to work in a team of experienced solutioners : Applied
- English: Fluent
