About the role: AD/Director Finance - Build PowerUp's Finance Function from the Ground Up

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on finance professional with the ambition to grow into a CFO role. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working on multiple priorities in parallel, and has a strong passion for building from scratch. They should have high integrity, strong business acumen, and a problem-solving mindset.

This role involves setting up and leading the finance and compliance functions from the ground up. It requires direct involvement-rolling up sleeves to drive execution rather than just managing. As PowerUp scales, they will build a lean yet high-performing team across finance, legal, and compliance. Developing a deep understanding of compliance and working closely with regulators will also be an essential part of the role.

- Set up strong yet agile finance processes that enable the company to scale efficiently while maintaining cost discipline.

- Work closely with business and growth teams to support rapid decision-making and execution.

- Take ownership of legal and compliance functions, ensuring regulatory adherence while enabling business growth.

- Build and lead a lean, high-performing finance team as the company scales.

- Engage directly with regulators, developing a deep understanding of compliance so that accountability for it rests with them.

- Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting while maintaining financial integrity.

- Be hands-on-rolling up sleeves to solve problems, as we value individual contributors over managers.
