Position Overview:
The Head of Production is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of production within an organization, ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality content across various media platforms.
This role requires a blend of strategic planning, technical knowledge, creative insight, and effective team management to meet the organization's production goals and maintain its standards of excellence.
Responsibilities:.
Project Management:
- Plan, organize, and oversee all stages of production from pre-production to post-production.
- Develop production schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Coordinate with various departments (e.g., creative, technical, marketing) to ensure project goals are met.
Technical Oversight:
- Ensure high-quality audio and video output by maintaining technical standards.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of audio, video, and lighting equipment.
- Implement new technologies and production techniques to enhance the quality of the final product.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage production teams, including audio engineers, video producers, editors, and sound designers.
- Conduct regular team meetings to monitor progress and resolve any issues.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members.
Creative Input.
- Collaborate with directors, writers, and other creatives to achieve the desired artistic vision.
- Review scripts, storyboards, and production plans to provide technical and creative feedback.
- Ensure the final product aligns with the creative vision and client expectations.
Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks at various production stages.
- Address any technical or creative issues that arise during production.
- Ensure all content complies with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Vendor and Client Management;
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of outsourced services.
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on project status.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in audio and video production, with a proven track record of successful projects.
- Experience in a leadership or managerial role within a production environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with production equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting, etc.).
- Knowledge of audio and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools).
- Understanding of broadcast standards and media formats.
