PNB Metlife - Senior Manager - Legal Advisory

Key Responsibilities:

- Has day to day responsibility for accurate, effective and timely legal advice, and support for PNB MetLife at an expert level on broad range of matters including commercial and contractual matters of significant strategic and/or financial value to MetLife

- Identify areas of risk in relation to MetLife's operations and provides solutions to manage the risks

- Has a day to day responsibility for providing proactive advisory and documentation support on employee lifecycle and other HR related issues, investigations, and other transaction related support.

- Assist in the development of best practices within PNB MetLife legal department

- To provide strategic legal advice in terms of new and proposed legislation.

- To deal with and manage correspondence with Regulatory and other Governmental Authorities in connection with the Company's business.

- Lead discussions between clients and other functions within PNB MetLife to ensure the best legal solution to meet commercial objectives

- Assist in providing resolutions (advisory & documentation support) to the day to day queries raised by multiple stakeholders

- Assist in the training of the business and other legal professionals on key legal issues

- Liaise with external counsel in respect of specific matters

- To provide strong functional support to Associate Director Legal in all manner of legal issues.

Measures of Performance:

- Minimise unforeseen legal exposure for the Company and its executives

- Timely legal support in terms of legal interpretation required for business performance

- Quality of legal advice/ opinion

- Compliance with the provisions of Insurance Act and other regulatory provisions

- Provide in - house legal support required by functions in internal as well as external dealings

- Effectively deal and co-ordinate with and extract work form external legal vendors

Qualifications:

Post graduate/ qualified in Law from a recognised university. He/ She should have never been debarred/ disqualified from the Bar council of India.

Skills/ knowledge:

- Sound academic record

- Good command over Corporate, Insurance, Employment and civil Laws

- Exposure to insurance regulations

- Excellent drafting and oratory skills

- Strong networking and influencing skills

Experience:

- 8 - 10 years of experience in a reputed law firm/ consultancy/ corporation (preferably from Insurance sector) and exposure to civil, corporate laws, insurance consulting and consumer laws

- Should have worked on independent projects in a multinational environment

- Should be capable of independently handling various assignments.

- Good command on procedural laws with a thrust on Employment, Insurance, corporate and procedural Laws.

- Sound Knowledge of insurance regulations.
