Context & Role:

The role - holder is responsible for designing and implementing the communication plan for the Company including public relations, events and corporate communications for the Company. The key purpose of this role is to build/ enhance the brand of the company along with facilitating a strong relationship with the media.

Context :

The role - holder will work closely with the Marketing team and will assist the Director - Marketing to develop, implement and regularly evaluate the corporate communications strategy and plan for the business within the context of the Indian market as well as MetLife's international branding and positioning

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop the corporate communications strategy for MetLife by understanding the unique communication needs of each function and the Company at large

- Create visibility and credibility for the MetLife brand through the media and other public relations avenues

- Ensure availability of updated information regarding the Company on the corporate web - site and intranet.


- Contribute to developing the content for the external media meetings to be addressed by the Managing Director

- Create media opportunities on an ongoing basis to generate and sustain the brand awareness levels of the Company in the market

- Ensure implementation of an corporate communication plan consistent with the desired corporate culture of MetLife

Measures of Performance :

- Dynamic corporate communications plan geared to the changing needs of the Company

- Strong share of voice for MetLife in the print and TV media through PR and other tools

- Timely and effective communication of the Company's achievements to the business community, the MetLife group and the Company's employees

- Brand awareness and recall

- Media visibility

- Share of voice in public relations

- Effectiveness and timeliness of communications

Required qualifications and experience :

- Management graduate, preferably with a specialization in marketing from a reputed MBA institute/ university or a specialized course in media and communications from a reputed institute

- 9 - 11 years- experience of independently managing a brand either in financial services or consumer goods industry

- Operational experience in organizing PR and other events as well as managing agencies and external suppliers

Knowledge and skills desired :

- Knowledge and experience of managing major communication projects of strategic importance

- Ability to network and influence people from different backgrounds

- Strong written communication and editing skills

- Established relationships with key players in the media
