Roles and Responsibilities:
A. Overview & Stewardship
- Oversee project management life cycle for software development projects
- Facilitate and coordinate project and cross-functional communication
- Manage key performance indicators for projects and the Development organization (Product and Engineering groups)
- Position reports into the Program Management Office Director (“PMO”)
B. Project Planning & Roadmap Development
- Facilitate and coordinate planning for both product and infrastructure projects in conjunction with the PMO
- Curate the product and infrastructure backlogs with the Planning Teams so that the projects are clearly defined and consistently assessed across the project prioritization criteria.
- Facilitate the strategic resource planning– including, Engineering, Product, Deployment, and Testing resources.
- Report costing of projects – including hardware and software.
- Drive the project prioritization and roadmap development process with the Planning Teams for both the product and infrastructure roadmaps.
- Regularly communicate the product roadmap status to the Executive team and Product Marketing.
- Regularly communicate the infrastructure roadmap status to the Executive team and IT.
C. Project Execution & Development Excellence
- Work with the Development Organization to track and report the progress of projects, including highlighting blockers, changes to milestone dates, and an explanation for such blockers and changes.
- Highlight, track, and regularly communicate resolutions to blockers.
- Identify, track, and communicate key performance indicators and metrics for projects and the Development organization.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of project update and status information.
D. Risk Identification & Management
- Work with the Development Organization to identify risks and define their severity towards threatening successful project development
- Work with the Development Organization to define and execute a mitigation plan for each of the identified risks.
- Regularly communicate the identified risks, their likelihood, their potential severity, their corresponding risk mitigation plans, as well as their actual degree of their presence during the project lifecycle.
E. Process, Infrastructure, & Staff Development
- Work with the Development Organization to define project management and development processes.
- Work with the Development Organization to create and refine collaboration infrastructure and reporting tools for product and infrastructure projects.
- Train, certify (as necessary), coach, and mentor staff in project scheduling, project tracking, and project reporting to ensure skill mastery and consistency in planning and execution.
The candidate should have an understanding of the Online Advertising Industry, a passion for technology and the drive and ownership to work in a start-up environment. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on teamwork, ownership, initiative and integrity. High energy and must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to react to changing priorities and the ability to prioritize and deliver in a deadline-oriented environment is also critical.
