Platform Engineering Manager - Retail/eCommerce

Looking to hire Platform Engineering Manager for India's largest omnichannel retail enablement company built by retail practitioners and industry insiders who understand the complexities of omnichannel retail transformations, both technological and operational. We power the omnichannel roadmap of 100+ global brands covering a network of 10,000+ stores.

About the role :

- The team works closely with the Product teams to build APIs that enable delightful website experiences.

- You will collaborate with product owners to manage product roadmap and ensure timely delivery of features with the highest quality

- You not only optimize your own code but make sure engineers are able to optimize theirs. As an Engineering Manager you manage your business goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team

- You will significantly contribute towards implementing engineering best practices, constantly look for opportunities to make the engineering systems scale horizontally, and opportunities to improve system design

- You work closely with the Product Management, Business Development and Operations team and enable them by providing solutions which meet business needs at a rapid pace

- You work with designers, business analysts, and product managers to estimate and plan projects in an Agile environment

- You will be expected to make objective data driven decisions and live and breath engineering metrics to build and improve systems

- Team coaching is a critical part of the role. It is expected that you create clear career paths for team members and help them grow with regular & deep mentoring, perform regular performance evaluation and share and seek feedback.

Ideal Candidate profile :

- Candidate with a working experience in a Product organization with 7 -10 yrs of work experience to lead a cross functional engineering team that includes Frontend and Backend.

- The ideal candidate would be one who not only has the technical chops to roll up sleeves and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also build and manage a team of 10-15 top notch engineers

- Must Have Experience in ReactJs & NodeJs.

- Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available set-up.

- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.

- Excellent leadership skills to mentor the engineers under you.

- Superior project management skills to manage multi-engineer projects and experience of delivering high quality projects on time

- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

- Cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) is nice to have or ability to learn fast
