Job Summary:
- The Plant Production Head will oversee the entire production process within the food manufacturing plant, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and extensive knowledge of food production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management:
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficient and timely completion of production schedules.
- Implement and monitor production KPIs to achieve optimal performance.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales departments to align production with demand.
Quality Control:
- Ensure all products meet quality and food safety standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct regular audits and inspections.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and mentor the production team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff development and skills enhancement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage staffing levels to meet production needs.
Process Optimization:
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to enhance production processes.
- Monitor equipment and facility maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
- Stay updated with regulatory changes and ensure the plant is in compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Manage the production budget, control costs, and optimize resource utilization.
- Analyze production data and prepare reports for senior management.
- Collaborate with the finance department to forecast and manage expenses.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor/masters degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a production management role within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in production management software and tools.
