Scrabble has been mandated to hire a Plant Head for a well-established & rapidly growing pharmaceutical organization. The role will be based out of Ambernath, Maharashtra.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed Including:
1. Production Planning and Execution
- Ensuring delivery of monthly desired volumes
- Work along SCM team to assure attainment of business objectives and execution of desired productions schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers' expectations.
- Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports organization's strategic initiatives.
- Managing entire supply side of S&OP process including plant commitments as per RCCP model and demand forecast
2. Plant Maintenance and Resource Planning (Process Controls)
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.
- Initiate plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
- Assist the Corporate Finance for Budgeting and Product Costing exercises.
- Stand up business planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring, reporting and management capabiliites that enable leadership to effectively manage the business and achieve its goals and objectives
- Capacity planning across medium/ long term business objectives and driving CAPEX to meet capacity needs
3. Providing leadership & problem solving:
- This is most critical area where Plant Head should provide guidance to the Operations team when in doubt, to ensure smooth functioning and 100% compliance.
- Plant Head should also ensure any technical or administrative problems are resolved at the origination through effective communication across departments. Whenever required problem to be escalated to management in a timely manner
- Lead collaborative strategic planning for the manufacturing network based upon performance and utilization of internal and external resources, pipeline progression, and continuous improvement to increase robustness and management of cost of goods.
- Ensure successful manufacture and life cycle management of all commercial drug products, ANDAs, sANDAs, and responses to Health Authority inquiries
4. GMP Status
- Organize, plan and maintain the GMP status of the plant. Responsible for leading audits & compliances with various regulatory authorities such as UKMHRA, USFDA, TGA, ANVISA, MH-FDA etc. Responsible for successful audits from pharmaceutical companies and partners
- Deliver all required validation activities related to facilities, utilities, and equipment, manufacturing process qualification, labeling and packaging, and shipping to enable and sustain licensure of all products
5. Human Resource Development
- Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need.
- Focus on fact based problem solving.
- Improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.
- Work to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees' positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.
- Work closely with HR to see that employee grievances are addressed appropriately and in timely fashion. Also ensure manpower planning is budgeted in advance and remains at optimal levels.
- Develop and maintain strong and effective relationships with partners including Process and Analytical Science, Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Program Leadership, Human Resources, Legal, and Finance to ensure corporate goals are met
6. EHS: Review & optimize the EHS policy & procedures. Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas
7. MIS: ensure monthly presentation of performance of plants which includes financial, technical, HR & compliance performance.
Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in similar space or FMCG industry with excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong hands-on experience in handling a manufacturing plant.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes and/or automation is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
- Proven track record in optimizing plant performance, improving productivity, and driving cost savings.
