Job Description: Plant Head (Maintenance and Projects)

Position Summary: The Plant Head overseeing the Maintenance Department and Projects and shall be responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to maintenance, repair, and improvement of plant equipment, machinery, and facilities. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and project management abilities to ensure smooth operations, efficient maintenance practices, and successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Management:

- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for plant equipment and machinery.

- Establish maintenance schedules, priorities, and allocate resources effectively to minimize downtime and maximize equipment efficiency.

- Monitor maintenance activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and operational requirements.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements for maintenance operations.

- Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement.

2. Team Leadership:

- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the maintenance department staff.

- Recruit, train, and develop a competent maintenance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement development plans for team members.

- Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.

- Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, innovation, and employee engagement.

3. Project Management:

- Plan, execute, and monitor various projects related to plant maintenance, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.

- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.

- Allocate project resources, establish budgets, and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effective project execution.

- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, such as engineers, contractors, and vendors, to ensure smooth project implementation.

- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and take necessary corrective actions to ensure projects are completed within scope, schedule, and budget.

4. Budgeting and Cost Control:

- Prepare and manage the maintenance department's annual budget, ensuring proper allocation of funds for planned maintenance activities, projects, and equipment upgrades.

- Monitor and control maintenance-related expenses to optimize costs while maintaining operational efficiency.

- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to reduce overall maintenance expenses without compromising quality and safety.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering) or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

- Proven experience (typically 8-10 years) in similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

- Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and predictive maintenance techniques.

- Project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.

- Excellent leadership abilities, with the capability to motivate and develop teams effectively.

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

- Knowledge of relevant regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
