Plant Finance Controller - Electrical Manufacturing Business - CA/CMA

Job Summary:

The Controller will oversee the financial operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, local tax regulations, and corporate policies. This role requires strong financial management, cost control, and reporting expertise to support the subsidiary's operational and strategic goals. The Controller will also serve as a key liaison between the local entity and the US-based parent company.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and local accounting standards.

- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to the US parent company.

- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

- Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support decision-making.

- Maintain an effective internal control system to prevent fraud and errors.

Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance:

- Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing for the manufacturing facility.

- Monitor production costs, variances, and profitability to drive cost efficiency.

- Work with operations and supply chain teams to optimize working capital (inventory, receivables, and payables).

- Analyze capital expenditures (CapEx) and return on investment (ROI) for manufacturing improvements.

Compliance & Taxation:

- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, GST, TDS, and regulatory filings.

- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.

- Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance and corporate governance policies.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management:

- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and forex transactions (if applicable).

- Ensure efficient fund utilization and monitor financial risks.

ERP & Systems Management:

- Oversee ERP system implementation, integration, and financial module management.

- Drive automation and digital transformation in finance processes.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

- Lead and develop the local finance and accounting team.

- Act as a financial business partner to operations, procurement, and senior management.

- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support corporate strategy.

Qualifications : Chartered Accountant with 8 Yrs of Experience or CMA with CA Inter 8 Yrs of Experience

Experience:

- 8+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in manufacturing and working with a US-based multinational subsidiary.

- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards.

- Experience in cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

- Familiarity with SOX compliance, transfer pricing, and cross-border taxation.

- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

- Working with a US parent company or MNC manufacturing unit.

- Hands-on experience in cost control and lean manufacturing finance.

- Experience in handling external audits and statutory compliance.
