Job Description: Plant Finance Controller

Location: Mumbai, India

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Plant Finance Controller to oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing plant in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management, ERP systems (preferably Oracle), and a strong understanding of Indian GAAP. As part of a dynamic, PE-backed organization, you will ensure compliance, drive efficiency, and provide financial insights to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Develop and manage the plant's annual budget, forecasts, and financial projections.

- Analyze operational and financial performance, highlighting key trends and variances.

- Provide actionable insights to the management team to improve profitability and cost efficiency.

Accounting and Compliance:

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with Indian GAAP.

- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including inventory valuation, cost accounting, and reconciliations.

- Ensure adherence to local tax regulations, statutory requirements, and internal financial policies.

Cost and Inventory Management:

- Monitor production costs, material usage, and overhead expenses to ensure alignment with budgets.

- Drive process improvements in cost control and reporting mechanisms.

- Manage inventory accounting, including physical stock verifications and variance analysis.

ERP Systems Management:

- Act as the key point of contact for Oracle ERP implementation, maintenance, and upgrades.

- Optimize the use of ERP tools for reporting, analysis, and process automation.

- Provide training and support to plant personnel on financial modules of ERP systems.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Partner with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, and sales) to ensure financial alignment.

- Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and reviews.

- Prepare and present financial reports for private equity stakeholders and the board.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Educational Background: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost Accountant (CMA); MBA in Finance is a plus.

- Experience: 8-12 years of experience in manufacturing finance, with at least 3-5 years in a similar role.

- Proficiency in Oracle ERP and other financial systems.

- Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP and tax regulations.

- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience in financial modeling.

- Hands-on expertise in cost accounting and inventory management.

- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Leadership qualities to manage and mentor finance teams effectively.
