We have a job opportunity with a 140 year old leading global mining and metals group that focuses on finding, mining, processing and marketing the Earth's mineral resources.

The IS&T function involves information technology infrastructure, focusing on the design and implementation of new and existing applications, systems architecture and network systems for both short- and long-term solutions within Rio Tinto.

What the role entails

This role is a great opportunity for an experience individual to support the business partners in portfolio validation and prioritisation. Working a 5 days on, 2 off roster and reporting to the VP Business Partnership, you will be:

Collaborating closely with IS&T Business Partners (Product Group, Group Functions & Functional) on a regular basis on business demand for planning purposes

Providing leadership to team in articulating how their role supports the end to end model and strategic vision

Ensuring alignment of services with overall IS&T strategy, cyber security strategy, business process strategy and enterprise architecture

Creating a common vision in the team and drive alignment

Developing and enhancing relationships with key business stakeholders

Guiding continuous improvement efforts

Assisting in the development of a strategy for the relevant discipline team(s) or product group business unit that includes building a roadmap for business strategy delivery.

Playing a lead role in managing the demand from the business for IS&T products and services.

Guiding establishment of relevant processes and services for Rio Tinto and ensure consistent delivery of these services.

Providing guidance to the relevant discipline with a focus on accountability, resource management and budget management.

Translating business goals to action plans and deliver business change results for Rio Tinto.

Managing associated medium sized vendor contracts.

Collaborating and working with business leaders and Strategy peers in managing business strategy implementation within the relevant discipline.

Assisting in the establishment of strategic programme initiatives within the relevant discipline and develop action and resource plans to achieve desired outcomes.

What you will need for this role

To succeed in this role, you will have:

11-15 years of experience in leading and developing high performance global and remote teams

Experience of working with external suppliers, including outsource providers

Extensive experience in Portfolio Management and continuous improvement methodologies

Understands IT service cost drivers and ability to develop talent

Effective planning capabilities

Consulting skills

Experience in working with internal stakeholders and customers to support planning and demand management

Vendor Management skills
