Purpose of Job: The Head of Pharma Strategy assists the Chairperson and CEO Global Pharma in providing strategic advice through data driven insights A thought partner and an SME who contributes to the growth of the business by helping evaluate future opportunities as well as providing ongoing support in running the business
Essential Qualifications: MBA from a Top Tier Institute, &/or a CA, CFA with minimum 7 years experience
Essential Skills & Experience:
- 7 10 years of experience managing CEO/CFO's and other CXO's
- Experience in consulting with leading strategy consulting organizations in the Pharmaceuticals/ Lifesciences practice, at a level equivalent to an associate principal or senior engagement manager
- A high EQ, good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across businesses, functions, geographies
- Excellent understanding of strategy, investor relations, M&A, Finance, Risk Management Legal frameworks
- Ability to liaise effectively with the board
- Nimble business mind, with high focus on quantitative and qualitative analysis, scenario planning and business profitability
- Drive execution and program management while influencing without authority
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on business strategy, new businesses acquisition, divestment, market trends, calling out changing paradigms to ensure profitable business growth
- Oversee strategic business initiatives from origination, development and successful execution in alignment with business strategy
- Seed in key shifts such as innovation capabilities, sustainability, digitization, analytics, business model review, M&A that can radically change the way PPL operates
- Serve as a key liaison between Chairperson, Global CEO, ExCom members and other key senior leaders, regarding various aspects of the business and help manage large programs and projects
- Assist in developing and communicating our strategic roadmap/long range plan Assist in the periodic reviews together with other business heads/CEOs
- Set strategic priorities for the Chairpersons Global CEO's office Helping identify the areas where Chairperson Global CEO must direct their focus and identify metrics for success
- Prioritizing between multiple meetings, representing the office in meetings as needed
- Work with the Finance, Legal, Secretarial, HR, M&A team and Business leaders to evaluate various transactions and different ways of structuring them
- Liaise closely with the Chairperson/Global CEO to prepare for Board reviews and engage with the Board members as appropriate
- Integrate and create cohesion among key individuals and functions, on both a formal and an informal, connecting the dots across the organization for improved alignment
- Author externally facing content for conferences, media interactions and other external forum
